Rev. Thompson was our minister at Martha Brown Methodist. I have such fond memories of him and his family. My prayers and thoughts are with his daughters.
I will never forget one year when we were going to camp, he took me to Emory and then he and I came later that day. I was so upset thinking I couldn't go and especially not riding the bus with the other kids. He told me not to worry, we would have a great trip. Which we did.
So many wonderful memories of his time at Martha Brown.

Gordon was certainly one of the finest ministers and more than that a fine Christian man. He was our minister at Martha Brown Methodist Church in the early to late fifties. He babtized my brother and I and it was always a point of pride that he started his long magnificent career as our minister. His mother was a long time member at Martha Brown and we always felt like he was our own. He returned to Martha Brown many times to visit and he was definitely a crowd favorite. We will miss this great man and I know the Methodist Church will also as he was an inspiration to all that new him. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family in your time of sorrow.
