Family-Placed Death Notice

FAINTER, Harlan Harlan Gray Fainter, 71, died February 20, 2009 at his home in Jonesboro, Georgia. Harlan was born in Natural Bridge, Virginia on April 3, 1937. He graduated Natural Bridge High School and joined the U.S. Coast Guard from 1958 to 1962, Honorably Discharged as Petty Officer Second Class with a medal for Good Conduct. He is survived by his son, Brian Fainter; grandson Matthew Fainter; brother Maynard; sisters, Mary Ruth, Kate, Sophie, Doris, Caroline, and Joyce. Harlan was a career Delta Airline employee from 1962 to 1992, working in Houston, TX and retiring in Atlanta, GA. Funeral services will be held at Harrison's Funeral Home, 714 S. Main St., Lexington, VA 24450, (540) 463-2912. Wake services Friday, burial Saturday morning with military service, H W W E Funeral Home, 1661 Joy Lake Rd. Morrow, GA (404) 363-1999.
