To Beau and his father,
I remember the fun times Beau and I had with Miss Hattie and our Sunday lunches at The Driving Club. As Miss Hattie reminded me, my grandmother, her school mate, Frances Massengale gave her the name Hattie at a very young age and it stuck. I know you will dearly miss her as I miss my grandmother.
My heartfelt thoughts and prayers go out to you and the entire Grant Family and we all appreciate her many philanthropical contributions made throughout decades past.
Many blessings to you all,
Mark Walter

My sincerest condolences to all my extended family on our loss of "Miss Hattie." I know she will be sorely missed by all and thank the Lord you have so many wonderful memories to share and relive over and over again. As one of the historians of this end of your family, I read this obit with great interest, and I wish so very much that I had made a connection with Hattie before her death. I am a great, great grandson of L.P. Grant, and great grandson of George Woodson Logan and Letitia "Lettie" Hannah Grant Logan, living in Raleigh, NC. I hope it won't be long before I can once again return to Atlanta and continue my research about the wonderful legacy Lemuel P. and his progeny have left and continue to leave behind. God bless all of you.
Your loving cousin,
John F. Logan

Thank you for using "Miss Hattie" as a means of enlightening those of use who read the Grant story. As an African American and a graduate of Morris Brown College (that was founded at Bethel Church), it warmed my heart to read that not all who fought for the Confederacy were the stereotype that is so often portrayed today. May your matriarch rest in peace.

"Miss Hattie" was a cherished friend and neighbor. I treasure the times we had together. She always brought a smile to my face with her stories and her spunk. It was a privelege to be her friend.
