COBB, Herman Funeral services for Mr. Herman "Pipe" Cobb, Jr. will be Tuesday, April 14, 2009, 1 PM at the Church in the Now, Conyers. Bishop Jim and Pastor Debye Swilley. Rev. Lamar Bell, officiating; Minister Marcello Banes, Eulogist. Interment, Green Meadows Cemetery. Visitation TODAY 12-9 PM; family hour 6:30- 8:30 PM Survivors are: parents: Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Roy (Mildred) Sims; brother, Lanier (Bionca) Sims: sisters: Tammy Sims, Ella Mae Shy, Melody Usher, and Earl (Josephine) Johnson; nieces, nephews, other relatives. Cortege will assemble 12 Noon at 249 Sims Rd., Covington. Young/Covington (770) 786-2944.

Wow...I'm still having a hard time absorbing this one. Mildred, thank you for giving us such a wonderful cousin. No matter the distance, upon seeing him, it was always the same. Oddly enough my last visit with my cousin was at a recent funeral. He greeted me with that charming smile and a "hey cuz", follwed by a kiss and a hug. Little did we know that would be our last earthly visit. Herman Jr. may have passed from this earth, but not from our hearts.

Herman is missed already ! ! He possessed a unique,caring and comforting spirit. I met him in the early years through my dear friend and his 1st cousin Betty Byrd Hudson(Tab, Jerry, Poochie) while visiting his aunt Fletcher Mae in historical HARRISTOWN. On our last gathering we shared of those special times. He was always glad to see those that he loved. He always shared the same positive, warm spirit, never temperamental. I pray mightily for the strength of the family as they move on with their lives in his absence. It is my prayer that each of them will grow stronger and hold to the 'good' times/memories they shared with him. Many join me in this expression !
