In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

To the family of Iris Head,
Your mother and daughter was a dear friend to me. I will miss her so much. She and I shared a friendship that was very close. I talked to her every day last summer while both us were recuperating. When I walked in to Perkerson Elementary as a substitute teacher she welcomed me with open arms. You can rest assured that she was chosen by God at this time because he needed a sweet sincere person to sit at the welcome table to receive others. Remember that we loved her, but so did God and He picked her from us because he needed her most.
I am praying for you that God will lighten your burden.
