James CAMP Obituary

CAMP, James 'Robbie' Mr. James Robert 'Robbie' Camp, age 36, of Lithia Springs, GA passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014. He was born January 26, 1978 in Greenville, SC. Robbie, as known by family and friends, was a member of the Douglas County High School Class of 1996 and was also a graduate of the Art Institute of Atlanta with a degree in photography. Upon graduation, he immediately landed a position with Creative Loafing and shortly thereafter his career took off working with many of the city's publications and corporations. All forms of photography interested him at an early age, but Architectural, Food and Event photography were the mainstay of his professional career. James was one of the first 'foodies', developing many friendships with the chefs whose work he photographed. He will be remembered for his careful attention to detail and his incredible gift for making people feel comfortable in front of the lens. His sensitive eye also enabled him to capture a loving look or proud moment during a family's special event. In addition to his love of photography, he enjoyed the outdoors, hiking, tree climbing, tending to his garden, and along with longtime girlfriend, Theresa Couvillion, attending outdoor music festivals and camping. He is survived by his parents, Cynthia and Bill Camp of Douglasville, GA; brother, Dugg Camp and wife Cassie of Woodbridge, VA; his two dogs, Otis and Kaiser; and his family who miss him greatly. A celebration of his life is scheduled for Sunday, July 27, 2014 at 3:00 PM at the Atlanta Botanical Garden, 1345 Piedmont Avenue NE, Atlanta, GA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Robbie to the James Camp Photography Scholarship Fund at the Art Institute of Atlanta. I remember both Robbie and Dugg as teenagers at your annual Christmas party. My own two older boys are similar ages. I can't imagine how much this must hurt... You and your family are in my prayers. Pam Immekus
