I just found out today about the passing of Mr. Lamas. He was such a pleasant guy every time he came in Walgreens. We really enjoyed having him as a customer. I will be praying for peace and comfort for the entire Lamas family as the days go on.

Deepest sympathies, prayers and thoughts go to Connie, Caitlin, Jimmy's Mom, Brother Mark and the extended family. Jimmy and I are friends since the first day of first grade, through high school and college. While miles separated us after college, I am happy I was able to keep in touch, even once at work at my building in Florida that he once inspected for GSA. His legacy of integrity, honesty and friendship will be missed by all who knew and worked with him, especially his friends and classmates from Lakeside and the Breckenridge neighborhood.
Sincerely, Tod and Renee Michaelis

I am so saddened to hear of this today. I had the pleasure of meeting Jim several years ago, through his beloved daughter, Caitlin. He was a delightful person whose love for his family was paramount and evident to me in our every conversation. My heart goes out to Connie and Caitlin and his mother.

James and I have been friends since we attended first grade together at Oak Grove. The adventures we shared, the good – and bad – times; through them all he was always the kind of person I hoped to achieve someday. Gentle, caring, compassionate; but more than anything he was a man as good as his word. We were fortunate enough to live the quintessential 70's teenage existence: fast cars, pretty girls, good music and cheap gas – all in abundant supply. I'll miss you James, but you will always be as near as my heart – your life and friendship represent a positive influence on every life you touched.
Rest in peace, brother; We'll meet again.

Jimmy was a good friend during our years at Oak Grove and Lakeside. He was fun, thoughtful and caring.

Although we lost touch as time passed, our paths started crossing from time-to-time over the past few years as we both ended up living back in the old neighborhood. Jimmy had not changed and it was always very evident how proud he was of his family and his work.

Our condolences, thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Hemi Jimmy was one of the nicest guys at Lakeside when I was there. You could always hear him coming down the road! He was two grades ahead of me and always treated me with respect and was just so darn nice. I am sorry to hear of his passing and prayers to his family he leaves behind.

I had the privilege of getting to know Jim right around 3 years ago when I was working on an appraisal for him. I've never worked with someone on a project that demonstrated such a love for his profession and respect for his peers. He will be missed by all that knew him. Godspeed to his family and friends.

I had the pleasure of working with Jim at GSA for 12 years. He was probably one of the most respected individuals in the regional office, for both his integrity and expertise. He was also a good friend and will be missed by many.
