Family-Placed Death Notice

PURCELL, James JAMES K. PURCELL James K. Purcell age 87 of Lawrenceville, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013. Funeral Services will be held 2 PM, Thursday, April 4, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Lawrenceville, with visitation from 1-2 PM. Rev. Inman Houston will officiate. Burial Gwinnett Memorial Park, Lawrenceville. Mr. Purcell was a member of First Baptist Church of Lawrenceville and a WWII Navy veteran where he worked as an aircraft mechanic. He also worked 27 years as a tax auditor for the Georgia State Revenue Office. After retiring he served 10 years on the County Election Board. Mr. Purcell is preceded in death by his Wife: Elizabeth Langley Purcell and parents: Walter & Bessie League Purcell. He is survived by his sister: Sara P. Hood of Lawrenceville; nephews: Lamar & Phyllis Hood of Snellville and Jim & Barbara Leach of Greenville, S.C.; nieces: Mot & Gary Carroll of North Myrtle Beach, S.C., Bettie Fabian of Columbia, S.C., and Margaret & John Love of Greenville, S.C. Flowers accepted or Memorials can be made to First Baptist Church of Lawrenceville, Building Fund 165 S. Clayton Street, Lawrenceville, GA 30046.
