Jane Elizabeth Bryant, 94, of Atlanta, GA, passed away on October 17, 2025 in Atlanta, GA. Jane was born in Jersey City, NJ to Mary Cottage and Julian Steuernagel on July 10, 1931.

An only child, Jane grew up in Hoboken, NJ, with lots of family, grandparents and many aunts, uncles and cousins about. As a young adult she worked in NYC as a secretary in the garment district and enjoyed the city life.

Jane later worked as an executive secretary for Mobile Oil where she met Howard Bryant, a chemical engineer with Mobile. They married on December 2, 1972 in Cranbury, NJ and have been happily married for almost 53 years.

Jane was an exceptional cook and loved to entertain. She also became quite a good Bridge player, winning club tournaments, and golfer, scoring a hole in one at the Country Club of the South in Alpharetta, GA where she and Howard retired to in 1993. They traveled extensively to many different countries including China, Australia, India and Egypt, a few of her favorites.

Jane is survived by her husband, Howard Sewall Bryant; stepchildren, Mary Kinsey Bryant Burdwood and Edward (Ned) W. S. Bryant and his wife, Heidi Hitchcock Bryant; grandchildren, William Howard and Katherine Kinsey Burdwood and Madeleine Ivy and Jackson Sewall Bryant; cousins, Darrylyn Lombardi and Christopher Cottage; Peter and Steven Caras, and Jane Jameson. She was predeceased by Tracy Caras.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, 11 AM at Lenbrook, 3747 Peachtree Rd. NE, Atlanta, GA 30319. Interment will be at a later date at the Bryant family plot, Greenfield Cemetery in Moss point, MS.
