John GOODBALLET Obituary

GOODBALLET, John John Clyde Goodballet, 70, of Suwanee, died on Friday, August 15, 2014, with his family by his side.John was born and raised in East Liverpool, OH. As a young man, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He had an entrepreneurial spirit and, while living in Florida, was able to turn his passion for horticultural into a business. After relocating with his family to Georgia, he worked the next 15 years as Locker Room Manager at Sugarloaf Country Club, where he ultimately retired. John was enjoying retirement and took pleasure in spending time with his grandchildren. He took pride in his family, was an avid golfer and football fan, and found much satisfaction in cooking for his family. In fact, some of the fondest memories will be of John manning the grill and taking seemingly random ingredients from the pantry and making delicious meals. He will be remembered for his loving spirit, his kindness to all, his humor, and most of all, the way he loved and cared for his family. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Nancy; a son, John; three daughters, Tara, Julie, and Diana; five grandchildren, Reymond, Anthony, Justin, Sophie, and Tripp; and three brothers Keith, David, and Michael. A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Bill Head Funeral Homes and Crematory, Duluth Chapel, 770-476-2535. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
