Joseph Killoran

KILLORAN - Joseph P., age 76, of Centerville, MA, died on Tuesday, June 20, 2006. He was recently predeceased by his loving wife Maxine of 52 years. Born in Worcester, MASS, Joseph was the son of the late John and Margaret (Courtney) Killoran. He was a Korean War veteran having served aboard a Naval aircraft carrier as a dental technician. Upon discharge he attended Hofstra University and later Clark University before making his home on Cape Cod. Joseph retired from United Liquors after many years of work in the liquor industry. He was a former member of the Wequaquet Lake and Hyannis Yacht Clubs. He was an avid sports fan, having faithfully followed the Red Sox and Celtics for many years. Joseph was devoted to his wife, Maxine, and served as a loving caregiver to her for a remarkable sixteen years following her debilitating stroke. Joseph was a communicant of Our Lady of Victory Church. Survivors include his children: Michael and Eva (Miraglia) Killoran of San Mateo, California, Cathy and Brian Grayboff of Longmeadow, Mass and Kevin and Donna Killoran of Burlington, MA. Cherished grandchildren are Hannah and David Grayboff, Steven Soucy and Mary Killoran and Danny, Sara and Nicholas Killoran. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Julian Leavitt Jewish Nursing Home for the compassionate care. Calling hours are Thursday, June 22, 2006 from 6:00-8:30pm at the Doane Beal and Ames Funeral Home, 160 West Main Street, Hyannis, MA 02601. A Mass of Christian Burial will held at 10:00 am on Friday, June 23, 2006 at Our Lady of Victory Church, Centerville, MA. Burial follows at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
