I read your story the other day, on Reddit I believe, but did not know you were from GA. An awe-inspiring story, and I am intrigued by the medical details being a second-year medical student. I will pray for your soul Father, please pray for me also.

I had the immense privilege of traveling on pilgrimage to Lourdes with Fr. Joe and his family in 2003. This experience changed me in my own spirituality forever. At the time, I accompanied my cousin who also was a young mom fighting cancer. His deep faith and devotion to the sacraments, especially the Holy Eucharist were so impressive and gave me an understanding of our faith in a way that I had not previously known. On a personal note, I fondly recall one night during a singalong. My cousin and I were singing with a group of Irish pilgrims and Fr. Joe jumped up to join in with us. He was so beautiful - inside and out! I have never met another person or priest like him. Thank God for the time he gave Fr. Joe here on earth for all those that were and are forever and eternally affected by his love of God, faith, and family. Eternal rest grant unto him oh Lord. May Your perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of all the faithfully departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen.
In Christ,

I remember Fr Joe when he was just a boy. He and my son Joe were the best of friends when they lived in our little community in Amity Harbor. We feel sad to hear of his passing but he is in a better place and will be watching over his family and friends.

Fr Joseph and his family are in our thoughts and prayers. It seems like a lifetime ago that we were all living on Gibbs Road, but those years and my friendship with The Peeks are some of my fondest memories.

Fr Joe was an example of faith, hope and courage to me in person when I met him on the 2003 pilgrimage to Lourdes. His love of Our Lord and His Mother and Padre Pio inspired me. My condolences to the Peek family. Thankfully, Pam Hussey

Fr. Peek said the rosary at my brother, Steven's funeral in Sept. 2010. He had already accepted the bitter cup offered him. I know it was painful for him to kneel but he knelt through the entire rosary. Over the years he has drank drop by drop from that cup of bitterness until it was empty. And now the good and faithful servant has been called home after suffering immeasurable pain for us. Eternal rest grant unto him and may perpetual light shine upon him and may he rest in peace.

I remember Fr. Joe back when he was a postulant with my congregation, the Oblates of the Virgin Mary. We were both seminarians at the same time. God bless you, Joe, and may God grant you his peace.

I meet Fr.Joseph Peek in St Catherine's Church and from the first day that I herd him prechen, I know he was a holy priest because of his devotion to Mother Mary. I was so sad when he left St Catherine's Church. He was there for short time. I miss him. I know deep in my heart that Fr. Joseph will be our new modern SAINT. He was truly a very holy priest and such a good example for us all. I will always remember you Fr. Joseph and may you rest in peace.

A beautiful soul and a most special priest!
Our heart and our prayers go out to the Peek family. There just are no adequate words.
One of the most beautiful Masses I've ever attended was very late one evening/early morning after we had gotten Fr. Joe moved. The boys-the Father's Peek-hadn't said Mass due to the move. They concelebrated with a congregation of one. The love manifest for the Lord and spilling over into their love of each other was beautiful to behold.
Rest in peace, Fr. Joe!

Father Joseph was a blessing to me and present in a time when I was experiencing a great renewal. He played an integral part of my CRHP weekend and kept things so prayerful, focused and fun. He was comfortable in front of a room of 50 women (thanks to his sisters) and made us feel like a special guest. I loved his love of music, dance and the stage. I will never forget him!

Please know that Father Joseph was an integral part of my discernment and in becoming a consecrated religious sister. It was in 2008 that he celebrated a Mass for vocations at St. Peter Chanel, Roswell where I, with my father, were the only attendees... it was Father's deep peace and joy that allowed me to open my heart and hear the Holy Spirit calling me. I will keep you close in prayer and know that I will be praying for him and asking for his intercession! God bless,

Didn't fully know til now what Fr. Joseph Peek's presence was to me in my life's path.
He possibly guided me to be around great people and my life's motto was to do for others too.
He went out of his way to guide me to be "comfortable" in any social situation.
Thanks for showing me the way.

Father Joseph was our angel who served on many PATH Rachel's Vineyard Retreats. He loved and accepted everyone, and was Christlike but human in his humor and silliness. I miss him but am happy he is with the other saints finally!

I will never forget Father Joe's amazing compassion extended to a woman grieving an abortion. In my presence, he knelt in front of her and apologized for the ways she felt let down and betrayed by people she had counted on; it was like seeing Jesus. May light perpetual shine upon him!

I will miss Father Joe greatly, and so will countless others, not just in the USA, I'm sure. A shinning example of Christ, a pastor, a priest, a friend, a beautiful human, gentle, kind but full of life and strength, and most of all Father Joe shared the Love and Peace of Christ always.

Father Joseph Peek (LHS 1983)..an Atlanta priest and one of many siblings of the Peek family who attended Lakeside...and a great friend of my brother, William Patrick Baran (LHS 1983) has died. I will be forever grateful to him for officiating at my late father's (Emil William Baran) cremains burial at Arlington Memorial Park in July 2013. He did it while in excruciating pain and discomfort. God Bless You, Father Peek

I remember seeing Fr. Joseph walking along Holcomb Bridge and offering him a ride back to MOQ. He declined. I had no idea at the time that he was battling leukemia or graft disease. He always appeared to me, at all times, as a living saint. I don't know why, but I just felt a strong sense of sanctity in his presence. Fr. Joseph, I will pray for you, but I beg of you, pray for me!

Since Father Joe arrive at our parish in his last year of seminary for an internship, he was much beloved. He got to know almost everyone in town over that Summer. His kindness and gentleness drew many people to the Lord. I'm sure that a merited crown awaits him.
