Josephine "Jo"
Josephine Holleman Hicks "Jo", from Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on November 5, 2025, at age 106. She was the daughter of the late William Franklin and Dennie Baggett Holleman. She married the late Robert Hicks in 1960. She is survived by stepsons, Rand Hicks and Wayne Hicks; nieces, Patsy H. Noble, Sandra H. Eden, Lucille H. O'Neal; nephew, Frank B. Holleman; and numerous others. She was an elementary school teacher for her entire career. Teaching was her passion. She attended Dunwoody Methodist Church, and was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, an international professional honorary society for women educators. Dunwoody Methodist Church honored her as their most senior member. Her absence will be deeply felt.
The funeral will take place on November 16 at H.M. Patterson and Son Arlington Chapel, which is located at 173 Allen Road NE in Sandy Springs, Georgia. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM with the memorial service to follow. Instead of sending flowers, you may donate to Dunwoody Methodist Church at 1548 Mt Vernon Rd. Dunwoody GA 30338.
