Joyce Hammontree Obituary
Joyce Crampton Hammontree, 86, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2025, in Milton, GA. Joyce was born in Chicago, Illinois, but spent most of her life in the Akron, Ohio area, where she attended Our Lady of the Elms and the University of Akron. Joyce taught grade school and worked as a vocational evaluator at Weaver Workshop.
Joyce and her husband, John, relocated to SkyLake in Sautee Nacoochee, GA, in 1989, where Joyce was a case manager at the office on aging for many years.
Joyce was a devoted wife and mother. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, John Hammontree, age 90; three children, John Hammontree, Laura Seibert, and Ed Hammontree; seven grandchildren, and two brothers.
May Joyce's life of service, kindness to others, and devotion to family and faith inspire all who knew her.
A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, May 5, 2025, at 10:00 AM, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 535 Rucker Rd., Alpharetta, GA, with a reception to follow. Interment will take place Thursday, May 29, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Holy Cross Cemetery, Akron, OH.
