Julia Callentine Obituary
76, of Uhrichsville, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015 at Union Hospital in Dover. Born May 18, 1939 in Adena, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Frank Thomas and Anna Josephine (Wszeborowski) Verhovec. On Jan.13, 1967, Julie married Francis Eugene "Gene" Callentine with whom she enjoyed over 32 years of marriage until his passing Oct. 24, 2000.
She is survived by sons, Jim Verhovec, Todd (Jennifer) Callentine, and Eugene Callentine; grandchildren, Canaan, Cassidy, Andrew, and Aaron; sisters, Rose (Jerry, deceased) Kourim, Johanna (Jim, deceased) White, and Cathy (Jerry) Gleason; brothers, Joseph (Phylllis) Verhovec, Frank (Sharon) Verhovec, and Ed (Dottie) Verhovec; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Valentine Verhovec.
Julie was a resident of Tuscarawas County for most of her life, and had worked for a number of years at Tusco Manufacturing and Bates. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister who loved caring for her family. She enjoyed knitting, and especially loved indulging in games of chance.
Services for Julie, officiated by Minister Dan Price, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 19, in the R.K. Lindsey Funeral Home in Dennison. Interment will follow beside her beloved husband in Uhrichsville's Union Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-8pm on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
