To the Longnecker Family:
I just found out today about Julie, and I am so sorry for your loss and for not being at the funeral. Julie and I shared many good times at Riverdale Middle School and also carpooling to West Georgia College. I taught Scott in sixth grade, and I knew Kim, too. Each one of us was so blessed to know Julie. We spent many times talking about our children - our highest calling and proudest accomplishment! I'm sorry I didn't keep in touch like I should have, but I know that if we'd gotten together, the years would have melted away in a matter of seconds! Julie was the epitomy of what it means to be a Christian - she took "Love thy neighbor as thyself" to heart, and lived her life in service. The world has lost a truly great person.

Sister Longnecker is a prime example of "who I want to be when I grow up"! I will always remember how much she loved Donnie and welcomed him into your family and how much she cherished her Grandchildren. And her candy-bar cake, of course! Love you Guys!

I loved your mother and respected her more than I can say. You had the best and she loved each of you to the depths of her being. I love each of you too and will forever hold you in my heart.

Jan and Children,
Julia was truly an "Elect Lady". From the first time I met her at Arizona State College at Flagstaff in the 60's, and the last time I spoke with her (just a few short weeks ago), she always made me smile. She had so much understanding of life and what was expected of her and she ask for so little for herself. She will always be alive in my memory and I know she will live in the memories of all of you. Being a Wife, a Mother and a Grandmother were her most precious joys.
My love to all of you and please give my condolences to Joanie and Verlene.

My prayers are with the Longnecker family and with Sigferson family. Julia (Miss Sigferson) was my 4th grade teacher and was my special friend as I grew up. She embraced my fanmily inspite of our differences. She exemplified true witness of Christ love. I miss my Teacher and prayer partner. A week before she went home, we remininced about the times she took me to Prescott and I was then embraced by the Sigferson's. But I will forever remember her, especially everytime i hear the song by the Mamas and the Papas, "Monday Monday". That was our song as we traveled to Prescott, football games, grocery store or even to take my mom to her doctor's appointments. Julia, "you are Special", thank you my friend for teaching me about love and about helping the less privileged.

Dear Longnecker Family,
Julia taught at Kendrick Middle in Joneboro with so much love and admiration for her ESOL children. She was uplifting and so supportive to each child. I can only imagine her continuing her teaching talent with the "little ones" in heaven. She has and always will be a very special teacher. May the lord continue to bless and comfort each of you during this special time of need.

I'm deeply sorry for your loss. Julie was such a wonderful person and was like a second mother to me for so many of my younger years. I am very happy that I had the chance to see her again recently at the wedding. Although I can't be with you during this time, please know that you are all in my thoughts.
Sincerely,

Each of you are in my heart and my prayers. All of us that knew and loved Julie, know that our lives are richer because of her. She was my shining star, the one I looked towards to guide the way. She was joy, she was love, and she was an angel on earth. She was my treasured friend. She was the best Mother and Munner that God had to offer and she was yours. I know how greatly loved each of you were by her and nothing can be better than that.
