Decades ago, Larry Morris was the speaker and awards distributer at a dinner held at the old Luckie St. YMCA. I felt {and feel} greatly honored that he was the man who shook my hand, congratulated me and gave me my Most Improved Wrestler trophy. I knew then that I had hit the Big Time!

What a blessing Larry was to my family. I couldn't really grasp the impact when I was a child, but I know now how thoughtful and helpful he was to us during a challenging time. Kay, my mother loved you and Larry so much. I am lifting you and your entire family up now. I am sure Larry was met by the open and loving arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Much Love.

December 25, 2012

What a guy larry was. I worked in real estate over the years and knew Larry quite well and enjoyed his company............because I knew Larry was sincere in his actions.

Larry was a terriffic competitor in every thing he undertook.

His contacts were everywhere across Atlanta and he knew more folks then anyone else I knew in atlanta.Like all of us that developed real estate in Atlanta if you did not get slammed occassionaly by the banks and the bankers you were not considered very active. And Larry took his lickings and kept on ticking as professionals must do.

Take a drive around Atlanta out Peachtree Dunwoody Road, out Ashford Dunwoody Road, out Peachtree Industrial, out Holcomb Bridge Road; out Peachtree Parkway, out Johnson Ferry Road and out so may other places in metro Atlanta and you saw some well executed single family homes, apartment communities, office buildings, commercial shopping centers not to mention several Days Inn Hotels in states other Georgia. These were the products of Larry, his partners and his staff of dedicated workers.

He loved, no Larry cherished, his fine family and he worked extremely hard in their behalf through the years. His family has backed Larry as their loving father and he has resonded as loving fathers do.I loved Larry Morris not because of what he did but who he was.

May God be with Larry and with his entire family.

What a privilege to have known Larry, who with his wife, Kay, has been a member of our Bible Fellowship Class at Blackshear Place Baptist Church. A man of stature with an impressive appearance, Larry was polite and outgoing, having a kind and gracious demeanor. He loved people and he especially loved Jesus. Now he's face-to-face with his Lord and Savior.

Having been close friend of the Wilders, I was fortunate to know and admire Larry. He and Kay were always kind to us East Lake kids as we were growing up. Tom, Kay's brother, was my best friend in high school. I used to love seeing Larry at East Lake Alliance Church, where my father was the pastor. He inspired me as a young football player, and his humble, gracious spirit was such a great model for all of us. He was a great man in all respects. Our condolences to Kay and the children.

Kay and family,
Add me to the long list of folks who have many fond memories of Larry and know what a wonderful, Godly man he was. Kay, I know you are all hurting, but I loved how you used the word "freedom" in his notice. Yes, Larry is home now and he is free of that terrible affliction. Mac and I will be in prayer for all of you, and know that our loving Father will sustain you.

Dear Kay amd Family,
I was saddened to hear of Larry's passing. He was a real icon and friend since the 50's back when you were dating. Even though we attended opposing colleges, I have always had the highest admiration for Larry. He impressed all as a great athlete, honorable man, and proud husband and father who left those of us who had the pleasure of knowing Larry as having been truly blessed. He was a real field general who has left a legacy that will be long remembered and he will also be remembered by many as "the brahma bull." May your precious memories remain a part of your lives and the Lord's blessings be with you during this time of sorrow.
Sincerely,

Morris Team 1966

Aunt Kay and everybody... Growing up our uncle was bigger than life..but when we were around, he was just plain old Uncle Larry... I am truly heart broken for all of you because we have truly lost a great husband, father, grandfather, uncle... My dad always said the greatest legacy to leave is the memories and the example led. Truly we have been left with an awesome legacy. May the Lord watch over all of you during this time. I love you.

The Currys send love and deep sympathy to all the Morris family. We love you and have many happy memories of living across the street from you as you children grew up. Larry and Kay have been wonderful role models for all who have known them, and we are grateful. Larry was especially kind to me, counseling and even employing me while we were both on NFL teams. He was a great friend who always had time for those of us who sought to walk in his footsteps. Kay has been inspirational in helping with others who shared her burden through Carolyn Curry's work. We are grateful and will not forget.

Love,

Carolyn and Bill Curry
