There is no reply to my letter and the call goes unanswered. My dear friend, correspondent and confident of over fifty years no longer visits. The precious gift of dedicated words live on with me.

I am saddened by his passing as much as I was gladdened by his presence. I will so miss his generous spirit and kind heart at CEA in the coming years.

I was saddened to learn of Dr Rubin's passing. He was an exchange professor at the University of Bergen, Norway in '65-66 and a patient advisor on my thesis writing. Around this time of year we exchanged Christmas missives, often with his travels playing a central part. I remember him fondly, continue to keep his books and shall reread his poetry.

Dear Family of Larry Rubin,
I was saddened to hear of Dr. Rubin's death. He was truly a gifted man. I took a poetry class he taught at the Osher Institute for Lifelong Learning at Emory University. This was probably about 9 years ago, and I still think about the course often. He brought the poems he read to life and inspired many of us.
To Michael Popkin, I don't know if you remember me. I was Rick Blue's girlfriend in the early 1970's, and you and I became friends through that association. I had no idea that Dr. Rubin was a member of your family. Small world indeed! Please give my regards to Max and Michael Goldner. I hope your step mother, Naomi, is doing well. I remember her so fondly!
Again my condolences.
Best wishes to you all.

Fond memories of a gentleman who shared his works and his love of all things literary with his fans at Senior University for many years. His humor and his dedication to his friends will not be forgotten.
