BANKS, Loren Homegoing Services for SFC Loren L. Banks, Sr., (United States Army Retired), of Decatur, Georgia will be held Saturday, May 31, 2008, 2:00 P. M. at Greater Christ Temple Holiness Church, 914 Cherokee Avenue, Atlanta, with remains placed in state at 12:00 NOON, W. B. Mitchell, Pastor, Apostle William Glover, Officiating. Interment Resthaven Gardens of Memory. He is survived by daughters, Mrs. Patricia (Edward) Doster of Atlanta, GA; Mrs. Linda (Robert) Barnwell of Decatur, GA, Mrs. Alfreda (Jeffery) Mabry of Decatur, GA; sons, Apostle Anthony W. (Tresha) Banks of Decatur, GA, Mr. Loren L. (Loretha) Banks of Decatur, GA, Mr. Michael L. Banks of Fort Myers, FL; mother, Ms. Leola Carmichael of Lakeland, FL; brothers, Pete Banks of Tampa, FL, M. Curry Carmichael of Tampa, FL; uncle, Jack Banks of Cordele, GA; in-laws, Evangelist James (Maxine) Hendley of Atlanta, GA, Rosa Hendley of Atlanta, GA, John (Bettye) Hendley of Atlanta, Mr. Grady Crawford of Atlanta, GA, Mrs. Geneva (Booker) Wilkins of Palm Beach, Fl, a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Family and friends are asked to assemble at 2008 East Camellia Drive, Decatur at 1:00 P. M.: Donald Trimble Mortuary, Inc., 1876 Second Avenue, (404) 371-0772-3.

To the family, the pain will ease after time. I can remember when my father died and we were in the finance office at GBOCT and Bro. banks came in and put his arms around me and said, I know I am not your natural father, but I will be your spiritual father, I knew Mom loved me ,but never knew how Bro Banks felt. Our sincerest and heartfelt prayers go out to you all. I have known the family for such a long time and I am glad to know that you have considered me a part of yours. Your parents were wonderful people. My children and I are blessed to have known them both. Our lives will always be touched by the lives they lived. Elder Banks was a student and a teacher of the Word. His depth and knowlege of the book was astonishing, to say the least. I am truly blessed to have sat at the feet of Gamaliel.
