YORK, Marcella MARCELLA Z. YORK Mrs. Marcella Z. York age 91 of Grayson passed away February 2, 2012. She was educated in Greensboro, NC and attended King's Business College. Marcella was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In her early married life she worked for the Commercial Credit Corp of Greensboro, NC and the First National Bank, Montgomery, AL. She was a member of Sardis Presbyterian Church since 1960. She will always be remembered for her innumerable acts of kindness, her warm, engaging smile, her warm, gentle spirit and enormous capacity to love. Mrs. York was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Mr. E. C. York, Jr.; surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Pamela York & Thomas F. Heslep, Lawrenceville, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Ron C. & Judith York, Lancaster, SC; grandchildren, Jason T. Heslep, Jennifer H. and husband, Todd Benton, Ryan C. York, Suzanne and husband, Tripp Wingard; great grandchildren, Cooper T. Benton, Colby T. Benton, Emmy Claire Benton and Zoe A. Wingard; niece, Sandra and husband, Trotti Riley, Edisto, SC; nephew, John Mitchell, Tampa, FL. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm, Sunday, February 5, 2012 in McEwen Chapel with Rev. Dr. J. Thomas Kort officiating. Interment, Sharon Memorial. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service at McEwen Funeral Home, 5716 Monroe Rd., Charlotte, NC.
