Family-Placed Death Notice

Homegoing celebration for Mrs. Margaret Alice Edge Phillips, of 6568 Martins Creek Drive, Austell, GA, will be held Thursday, August 3, at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Hill Harvester Church, 4650 Flat Shoals Pkwy., Decatur, GA, Pastor, Earl Paulk, Pastor Lynn Mays, officiating, with remains placed in repose at 9:30 a.m. Interment, Lincoln Cemetery. The family will receive friends and relatives Tuesday at Gus Thornhill's Funeral Home from 7-8PM. Margaret leaves to cherish her memory a loving husband, Mr. Bobby J. Phillips; six lovely daughters, Ms. Pamela Y. Phillips, Mrs. Kimberly VanJohnson (Timothy), Mrs. Barbra L. Jackson (Brett), Mrs. Jennifer R. Freeman (Stanley), Mrs. India N. Kaufman (Kenneth), Mrs. Holly C. Erbach (Eric); nine grandchildren: Sierra VanJohnson, Nicholas VanJohnson, Joshua Freeman, Starlynn Freeman, Samuel Freeman, Christina Kaufman, Hope Kaufman, Brooke Jackson, Eric Erbach, Jr.; five brothers: Harold, Keith, Gary, Percy, William; cousin, Annette Andrews. She will also be remembered by a host of other relatives and friends. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the residence at 9:30 AM. Gus Thornhill's Funeral Home, Inc., 404-768-2993-4.

To everyone who has given us their prayers in this time of immeasurable loss and sorrow. Thank you for your support, love and kindness. No bond is as great as that between a parent and child. My mother was my first love and I feel her loss acutely. I have been disappointed and hurt in my life, due to the uncaring of others. But having my Mom made these things insignificant, because I know she loved me for exactly who I am. Now I have my father, sisters, neices & nephews who also love me unconditionally, but knowing that my mother is gone, even though it is to a better place within God's embrace, doesn't make the loss any easier to bear. I may never know the sound of my mother's voice or her touch again, but when you see me or hear me, I am testament to all my Mother was and her living legacy to the world. Once again, thanks for the words of encouragement. My mother was a unique and special woman, now heaven knows the delight of this wonderous spirit.

having had the privledge of knowing and loving such a wonderful person was truely a life changing experience, one that was set in motion many years before we ever met. we didn't hit it off at first but eventually I won her over after jennifer and I married she knew I was here to stay, she was just like my mom not my second mom but my mom, there are not many times in a person's life when they experience someone who has the kind of effect she had on me. anyone reading this can tell how much I loved her and always will, may the peace of God which passes all understanding keep your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. this expression of my thoughts and feelings were not only for the phillips family but for myself as well, I LOVE MARGRET PHILLIPS.

To Bobby and family, my heartfelt condolence to you all. I just found out today (8/23/06) from my daughter Carol that Margaret had passed. We grew up together raising our children and maintaining a friendship that lasted for years until circumstances put space between us, May God keep you all in perfect peace. Should anyone wish to speak to me I am retired and home most all of the time, my phone number is 770-864-1148. So sorry I missed her farewell.

To my father, sisters, nieces, nephews, and extened family and friends - Mamma truly loved/s us with all her heart, soul, mind and body - I want to thank you for all your kind words and comfort during this difficult time - Even though mamma did not want to leave her beautiful family - we know in our hearts and spirit that she is with her Lord and Savior and sits now as a Saint of God - Our Saint went marching in with dignity and immense (humble) pride.
