Mack was such a great guy! He was always so hip and stayed right on top of one our favorite things-movies. He loved you so much, Laura. He and your mom together were quite a pair...the yen and the yang. The tall drink of water with a short shot of vodka! I hope you and the family are doing ok. Rest in peace Mack, you are back with Josie. Laura, you were a wonderful, loving daughter. I know you will miss him.xox Lorrie

I am very saddened to hear of your Dad's passing. He hired me as a shy 18 year old at the First National Bank. I became his secretary for about 3 1/2 years beginning in 1952. We had such a good time as we worked. Your Dad made the job so much fun. I can hear him singing "Go Tell Aunt Roddy, the old grey goose is dead" like it was yesterday. He loved his wife and his girls and I remember he loved to shop the bargains at Rich's and would buy beautiful little dresses for you both. He would get so excited about his bargains and want me to leave my work and go immediately to Rich's to get the big bargain! My family has heard over the years alot of the things he used to tell me about his life. My mother was raised in Nashville and graduated from Hume-Fogg High School as your Dad did and we had many things in common. He and your mother came to our wedding . I remember alot of good times during those years as we had many parties just in the Personnel Office. Your Dad was such a talented man in so many, many ways. He played a big part in my growing up and he will not be forgotten. My thoughts and prayers go out to you both and your families. Nancy McBrayer Shipp

Luci and Laura,
I am so sad to hear about your dad's death. He was such a true southern gentleman and it was a privilege to have met him and Josie. May you find comfort in the wonderful memories you have of them. Hugs to you both.

Laura, I am always amused, and a bit touched, by your reference to your dad as "Mack". The obituary notice provided details of his life I had not known, and I must say that I admire him that much more for his accomplishments. I will always think of him as humorous and happy, both contagious qualities to those around him.
He will be missed.
Your cousin, Don Cunningham
