It´s funny that I should get this reminder today. I´ve been working at the hospital for about two months volunteering and last night as I left this very tall, South Carolina policeman turn the corner and my mind went to Michael. They were about the same size, same height, and it brought back so many memories of Michael, I remember once it was lunchtime and I said Michael I´m gonna fix a grilled cheese for lunch. Would you like something and his response was yeah I´ll take two he was such a sweet man and I miss him dearly love and prayers to his family.

My heartfelt sympathy is expressed to you the family of Mike. I cannot imagine the pain and hurt that you all are facing still now. I hope that my words will somehow bring a little comfort to you. I knew Mike to be a wonderful friend and confidente to my husband Tyrone Walls. He was such a nice man. I was very fond of him, and always enjoyed seeing him. He and my husband were very close. He was always smiling every time I saw him. He always treated me so nicely. You couldn't help but to like Mike. I know that my husband misses him very much, and so do I. We will both keep him in our hearts forever more. He brought so much to so many people's lives. He certainly did to ours. I think of Mike often still and I put a cross over my heart and say a silent prayer to GOD and tell Mike how much we miss him, and that we loved him. He will NEVER be forgotten by us. We will continue to pray for you the family. May GOD continue to bring you comfort.

Michael, it has been really hard for me to sit down and write in this book, because I really can't believe that you are gone. As I look back at the program of your beautiful homegoing service, I come to realize that you are really gone. The last thing I remember about our time together was when Perry, jennifer, I and the kids all got stranded at commerce outlet, and you came with David to rescue us, as I have learned you did with so many others. A heart of gold. I also remember Thanksgiving 2004 at grandma's house and you was on your way to work, and I said before you go take a picture with the three "Charlie's Angles", Sheena, Tamika, and I. The best memory of all was the times when Tamika and I was little and you and Perry was our babysitters. And you would lock us out of the house until our mother's would come home. I was young, But I enjoyed every moment we shared together as cousins. I love you and will miss you so much. Auntie Brenda, Sheena, and Perry I love you. May God strengthen your hearts.

Love your cousin

Brenda, Perry & Sheena,

I know it is hard right now. I am praying you through this storm. I assure you that trouble will not last always. It will get easier. God promise that he would never leave you nor will he foresake you. He will not put more on you than you can bear. Lean not to your own understanding but in ALL your ways acknowledge him and he will direct your path. Let him do it! TRUST, RELY ON AND CLING TO JESUS. You can depend on him. He knows your sorrow and is there to help you through every second of every day. I love you and I am here for you. If you need someone to talk to, a shoulder to lean on or cry on, I'll be there.

I can not begin to say how hard it has been for me to understand that you are no longer physically here. I remember our last serious conversation where you told me that you were trying to keep me out of trouble so I can make Sgt.and you told me how hardheaded I'am. You were 100% correct. I never got a chance to say thankyou so I'm saying it now. Thankyou for being a friend and a great supervisor. It was hard for me to read your Final Inspection at your services, but at that point I felt your hand on my shoulder telling me to go on and continue doing the job that we both love to do. I'll miss you Mike but I will never foget you my brother in blue.

Well I never saw it coming, but thank God I remember the last hug and smile at Christmas 2004. You walked out grandma's front door and gave me the biggest smile and hug. I'm upset because thats all I can remember, I don't remember the words. No one could ever love you more than me. Your Auntie, only three years older than you. I remember all the good times as children when we would get into mischief and rome around between Dublin and the Columbia Drive area. I was trying to take care of you and you were always trying to take care of me. You, me Tony and Perry is what I see, getting in trouble and just being free. If I had known you would leave me this soon, I would have held on to you so tight you wouldn't have been able to breath. I love you and all my family, this is truly the hardest lost we all have ever felt. Until we meet again. I'll never forget you, and how I screamed when Auntie Lena told me you were gone. The tears just come and go on and off. I love you Sheena, Brenda and Perry. Michael you could always dance better than me. You are in heaven now with all the other love ones thats gone on. This road we all will have to take. Grandma and Grandpa is missing you much. Their tears just keep flowing. They loved you so much. Love you, Auntie lane.

Mike, I have seen your face of TV, on the programs, the homegoing service, the burial, but yet it's still so unreal. This is so unsettling and hard for me because you were taken away so suddenly. You would call me at work to see how I'm doing only to end up on the phone for hours laughing and reminiscing about old times, but the real funny part would be that we would realize it was the end of the day and time to go home. The last time we were together you called me out to the terrace to show me the gift for your mom. You were so happy and you know what, so was I. Behind that tough chest was a heart of gold that reached out to many. Mike you are very special and always will be. Everyday I am reaching back for the memories which I will cherish for life.

Where do I begin. You were my big brtther yet you were my baby! I loved you so much. As I sit here so many things run through my mind. I am hurt that you left me and I didn't even get to say good bye. As I try to stay strong for mama I can't help but feel the need to just scream because the pain is so great. I miss you more than you will ever know. This still seems like a dream right now, but in the back of my mind I know that you are really gone. but I know that God is too wise to make a mistake and I know that He will see us through this time.

I know that you and daddy are sitting there enjoying each others company and watching over mama, Perry and myself. I love you and I miss you. There will never be any that can take your place. Out of all of the love that I can show you, I know that only God can truly love you best. Rest In Peace Mr. Mike!

Michael you will be dearly missed! I never thought we would have to go through life without you! The second I got the news I felt like it wasn't true, I wanted someone to slap me out of what I thought was a horrible dream, but I soon realized that it wasn't a dream at all. My heart is filled with pain, that in time should mend with the help of God and memories of you! I love you and miss you very much!

MAMA BRENDA, SHEENA AND MY FIANCE' PERRY, NOT ONLY HAVE YOU LOST A LOVED ONE, BUT SO HAVE I. I SHARE YOUR GRIEF. ALTHOUGH NOT BY BLOOD, HE WAS A BROTHER TO ME. I'VE ALWAYS ADMIRED HIM FOR THE UNSELFISH DEEDS THAT HE DID. I FOUND MYSELF ASKING PERRY QUITE OFTEN "WHO ELSE WOULD HAVE DONE THAT FOR US?". EVERY TIME HE WAS CALLED ON, HE WAS RIGHT THERE. I WAS AWAITING FOR THE DAY THAT PERRY AND I WOULD WED, BECAUSE MICHAEL WOULD DEFINITELY BE OUR BEST MAN. ALTHOUGH WE DIDN'T SEE OR HEAR FROM HIM EVERYDAY, THERE WAS CONFORT IN KNOWING THAT HE WAS JUST A PHONE CALL AWAY. OCCASIONALLY WE WOULD BREEZE BY HIM ON THE EXPRESSWAY AND THE NEXT THING WOULD BE A PHONE CALL TO BEGIN OUR DAY. A VERY THOUGHTFUL AND KIND UNCLE HE WAS TO THE KIDS. FOR ALL THESE THINGS MICHAEL A. DAVIS WAS LOVED BY ME AND WILL BE GREATLY MISSED.

Over seventeen years ago, “BIG MIKE” and I met as police cadets. We were young, driven, and determined to become protectors of the peace. I can still envision us sitting in role call laughing and chatting before hitting the streets. Of course my friend had his favorite assignment on the streets known as “221.” As friends would have it, typically I received the beat right next to him, “231.” He saw his chosen profession as more than just a job; but as a reflection of who he was…knowledgeable, masterful, skillful, proficient…A NATURAL.

If ever an officer needed assistance, especially in volatile situations, he was the first to volunteer. His voice still echoes in my head “Cancel that unit, I’m in route!” Thoughts of being on a traffic stop and looking in my mirror with the “big guy” pulling up and saying, “Just making sure you’re okay.” My friend served his country in the Army, prior to his law enforcement tour of duty. I recall the times we debated over who were more dedicated - Marines or Army Rangers? In my mind it was clear, “The Marines get it done, Rangers come later to cheer us on!” I can still see the smirk on his face, followed by thunderous laughter. I’m struggling with typing these words, as I wipe away tears. I know my friend has arrived in heaven promising once again to “Protect and Serve” in God’s kingdom. I thank God for the years, experiences, and memories of my friend.

To the family of Sargeant Davis:

May your troubled heart find peace and comfort in the knowledge that you are never alone. May God's presence ease your trembling spirit and give you rest. God is your stronghold, and with Him as your guide, you need never be afraid. No circumstances can block His love. No grief is too hard for Him to bear. No task is too difficult for Him to complete. When what you are feeling is simply too deep for words and nothing anyone does or says can provide you with the relief you need, God understands. He is your provider -- today, tomorrow, and always. And He loves you. Cast all of your cares on Him... and believe.

He will always be (Officer Davis) to me and my classmates at North Clayton High School C/O 1997. He was a great role model and always encouraging to many of us and he will be missed dearly as an officer and friend.

That day you went away, I wasn't happy I didn't smile but my heart, it broke. Deep down quite a while. Yes, you passed from this life

with no wings that unfold. You moved over to the Kingdom, of years past, untold. I knew then, I'd miss you, a very great deal. As I loved you so much, and now pray time may heal. I smile now with a cover, which hides many pains. It hides many feelings, until we meet again. Behind stone walls, for now hides my heart. And behind those stone walls, you're a great part. The walls may seem old, their mortar is weak. They've foundations failing, which give many a creak. Yet these walls will hold out, just for us two. God has promised this much, and God's promise is true. God has promised one day, we'll meet, just us two. That we'll knock down these walls, and build my heart anew... I will always love you Michael!!!

I am saddened to hear of this tragic loss to the Clayton County Police Department. I heard so many great things about Sgt. Davis, I feel as though I knew him. My daughter, Officer Clintisha Jackson, had the pleasure of working with him while she worked on the morning watch. She says he was a great officer with extreme professionalism. I never had the opportunity to thank him and all the other officers and show my appreciation to them for watching out for my daughter. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and the entire Clayton Co. family and I know Sgt. Davis will truly be missed. I know Sgt. I have known Mike for close to 10 years. A good friend and a dedicated officer. He would always be the first person I would call when we would have Rival basketball games at North clayton High. I Knew he was about business. I will miss him!

I have known Mike since 1992. He dated my nieces' aunt and became like a member of our family also. Whenever we saw him on his extra jobs, he would always greet us with his smile and a hug. My family is saddened by his death. The world and Clayton County has lost a great man and friend.

I did not know officer Davis but had a chance to have a casual conversation with him at a gas station. He was a very nice and polite person, unlike so many others. Please accept my greatest sympathy and know that you are in my prayers.

God Bless.

Michael Davis was a great person. My daughter and I knew him as a neighbor, a friend and a police officer at North Clayton High School. He was loved and respected by everyone who knew him.

Our prayers are with Michael's family during this time of grief. He will truly be missed, but not forgotten. MAY GOD BE WITH YOU.

Mike was a fine police officer and gentleman. I have known him since he began working with CCPD, both as a co-worker and when I worked in the Solicitor's Office assiting in prosecuting some of the cases he made. He was a dedicated police officer and extremely professional. He will be sorely missed by all that knew him. My thoughts and prayers go to his family, co-workers and friends.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Michael was a good friend to me and my kids. He would always look out for me while working third shift at a convenience store in his watch, and always kept an eye on the girls for me. He was a great man and wonderful, thoughtful officer. He will be greatly missed.
