Michael Zeiler Obituary
Michael Donald Zeiler, 87, passed away on February 7, 2021. He fulfilled his passion for teaching and research as a distinguished professor of psychology and Charles Howard Candler Chair at Emory University for 41 years. He earned his B.A. from Stanford University and doctorate from the New School for Social Research, and started his academic career at Wellesley College and the University of Iowa. Mike and Marlene, married for 67 years, moved to Atlanta in 1969, where they raised four children. While a Ted Williams fan, he loved Atlanta sports. He was a self-taught woodworker, carpenter, painter, car mechanic, mathematician and computer programmer. He loved jazz, fishing, golf, tennis, chess, Montana, and the Outer Banks of North Carolina. He leaves Marlene, his four children and their spouses, 8 grandchildren; his sister and brother-in-law in Ann Arbor, MI; brother-in-law in New York; nieces and nephew; and many friends. He will be missed. Please make donations to a charity of your choice.
