Dearest Milton,

I saw your obituary today in the O-A News. My heart is broken, and I type this note through a flood of tears. Though you were my student at Auburn, I admired you more than words could EVER SAY! The day you graduated from AU, I could not have been any prouder than if you were my own son! I shall miss you IMMENSELY AND PRAY for your family!

Safe journey, Milton, say hello to my dad as he knows you now, and as always, WAR EAGLE!

It was with great sadness and surprise that I learned of Milton's passing. I had the privilege of getting to know him when he worked in Parker, AZ and subsequently moved to Yuma. His love of Faith was always so inspirational to me and I always enjoyed when he welcomed me... I'd like to share the following in his memory:
Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road,
to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
but never meant to stay...
Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey's quicker,
For some the journey's slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
We'll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the lord

I knew Milton for a relatively short period of time, but it didn't take me long to understand and appreciate his deep love for the Lord and people. He was really one of the nice ones. I will miss our chats.

Milton was a classmate of mine at SPX and Auburn. He was always kind and friendly and had a great sense of humor. I remember him telling me about his plans to become a social worker to help those in need. I will pray for the repose of his soul, and for the healing and comfort of his family.

To the Rivas Family:

May you be comforted from God's word, the Bible, recorded at James 4:8; "Draw close to God, and he will draw close to you."

My condolences,
