Priscilla WEXLER Obituary

WEXLER, Priscilla Mrs. Priscilla Linton Wexler, age 59, went to her heavenly home on March 19th after a 10-month battle with colon cancer. A native of Savannah, Ga, she had been a resident of Atlanta for 35 years, a member of Northside United Methodist Church and The Church of the Apostles. She graduated from Savannah High School in 1973, and Georgia Southern University in 1977 where she was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. She worked for 13 years as a flight attendant for Eastern Airlines, and after their closure in 1991 she devoted herself to volunteer services and caring for family members. Priscilla was more recently employed by Chick-Fil-A and CVS in Atlanta. She is preceded in death by her father Robert George Linton, mother Mary Linton Anderson, and brother Robert George (Bobby) Linton, Jr. She is survived by her daughter Dorothy (Dory) Linton Wexler of Atlanta, friend and former husband Raymond Wexler of Atlanta, sister and brother-in-law Donna and Larry Cowart of Savannah, sister-in-law Janey Linton Welch of Savannah, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins who were all very dear to her. Priscilla's passion for life touched everyone she met, and she truly never met a stranger. She had a gift for making others laugh and feel comfortable in her presence, and she used that gift to bless and influence many lives. Her fun-loving nature, outspokenness, and sense of humor are just a few qualities that made her personality so magnetic, and her ability to celebrate in the face of cancer was an inspiration to all. She was a woman of strong faith who believed in the power of Jesus Christ's love and the eternal glory and peace that would await her after her death. Priscilla believed in a life of celebration, and there will be a memorial service celebrating Priscilla's life at The Church of the Apostles (Northside Pkwy) on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 11:00 am. Visitation with the family will follow the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to American Cancer Society, Young Life of Greater Athens (920 Baxter St., Athens, Ga 30606), or a charity of one's choice.

The Davies Family will always remember Priscilla. She is an example of the ability to impact people-- even a stranger-- whatever your place in life. We met her at Chick Fil A, and quickly learned that Priscilla was an extraordinary individual. Not many would take their job so seriously inquiring about our family by name every singe day we saw her. She touched us all greatly and showed God's love to everyone she met. Rest in Peace Priscilla.

Priscilla was an inspiration to laughter and always shined a bright light in all of our family get togethers. I especially cherished her knack with our children, who delighted in her sense of harmless mischief and how she treated them just like they were her peers. It will be impossible to fill the hole that her passing leaves us, but I know that we are all better people for having known her, and for her sharing so much of her warmth with us. Dory, please consider us a source of help in any way you might feel a need to seek it. We love you and your father, and we mourn with you.

I am so devastated at the passing of a best friend. Pris was the most caring loving friend anyone could have. No matter what , where , when , she Always sent a birthday card or phone call. We were sorority sisters in Phi Mu and she was my Grand Big sister. I have loved her for 40 years as a truly angelic and precious soul who always brought sunshine to my life as well as my family's . I still can't comes to terms with this as she had a zest for life and all that was important to her was family, friends and daughter Dory. I can't imagine this world with no Priscilla. The memories I have of US and Her are some of the best I will ever have. To the family my deep heart felt sorrow . I KNOW exactly where she is now. Running Gods division of friends and family.
Rest in Peace sweet Pris . I love you and will see you again one day and we will reminisce .
