Unbelievable. I just here about Rena last night. Rena was such a awesome lady. She was one of the most honest and straight forward people I have ever met. I truly have never met anyone else like her. She is now at peace, dancing with GOD and his Angels. Smile on great lady!!!

WORDS CANNOT EXPRESS HOW SHOCKED I WAS TO HEAR OF YOUR PASSING. WE HAD SO MUCH FUN TOGETHER WHILE WORKING AT OVERHEAD DOOR, ESPECIALLY AT LUNCH TIME WHEN YOU, KAY AND I WOULD GO WALKING EVERY DAY. I REMEMBER THE LAST TIME I SAW YOU, WHEN YOU PICKED ME UP AT GREENBRIAR AND WE WENT TO HOUSTON'S DOWNTOWN FOR DINNER. I WILL NEVER FORGET YOUR BEAUTIFUL SMILE, WIT AND "SMART MOUTH"; THOSE WERE YOUR TRADEMARK AND YOUR CHARM. YOUR MOST OUTSTANDING CHARACTERISTIC WAS THE LOVE YOU SHOWED FOR JACQUETTA; YOU WERE SO DETERMINED TO MAKE HER "SOMEBODY", AND SHE WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN. I WROTE HER A LETTER A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO TO LET HER KNOW THAT SHE CAN COUNT ON ME IF SHE NEEDS ANYTHING. SLEEP ON, "PRETTY GIRL"; WE'LL SEE EACH OTHER AGAIN IN THE MORNING!!

It's never easy to say goodbye to someone who is already gone! Rena and I worked at Overhead Door Co and during our time we argued, laughed, prayed, cried and laughed some more. Her smile was contagious and her wit and quick thinking was remarkable. Remain strong Jacquetta and know that you were truly loved by your mother. Keep your head up! Stay focused.
Bish, you meant the world to her...stay strong and know she loved her brother Blue.

You never fully realize the impact that one has on your life until they are gone. Even then, you can reflect on the memories and they still live on in your heart and mind!
I miss you dearly, I am so thankful that part of you still lives on in each of your family members...For instance, I see your SMILE everytime I see Quette, I hear your CRAZY stories and SMART mouth everytime I have a conversation with Priscilla,Belinda and Aunt Jack. Hey, I even see your cheekbones when I look at myself in the mirror.
The determination and fight you've had since your younger days were quite evident in your last. You fought a good fight and now you have been granted rest!
Thank you for being a part of my life, you kept me laughing even until the end (of your time here). I know that your soul is somewhere prancing around in heaven...

My heart and prayers goes out to you.I didn't know Rena that well but the little time she was in the hospital on my floor (11A) at Grady hospital I really got attach to Rena. She was a very sweet and nice person. She never complained about anything during her stay in the hospital. I was stock to here that she had passed when I came to work. And for her daughter just continue to stay strong and to remember that God doesn't make mistake. You have my deepest sympathy.

I met Rena at National Linen years ago. My thoughts and remembrance of Rena are always special. After having a conversation with Rena we found out that I had a nephew that played football for Douglas doing the time that Quett was in the band. Your family are in my prayers at this difficult time.

As I read the newspaper today, I was shocked to see the beautiful smile and face of one of my most supportive parents, Rena Owens. Rena and I became very close when I had the privilege of teaching Jacquetta in 5th grade at Collier Heights Elementary School. She assisted me in taking the students to Six Flags at the end of the school year and any other tasks I needed help with. She loved Jacquetta and had very HIGH EXPECTATIONS of her. When I heard Jacquetta was graduating last year, I went over to the apartments they used to live in on Harwell Road; only to find out she no longer lived there. I am so sorry to hear about the loss of such a wonderful, high-spirited woman. God has truly added a beautiful rose to his garden.

Rena was a fascinating young lady. We remember the fun and witty things she did to keep us on our toes. She was beautiful and intelligent but most of all she was our "baby" sister and she will surely be missed. We know that GOD had to love you a lot to call you home so early. I know that you are not gone, just transitioned to another state of existance...a state where time means nothing because it is an eternity. I met Rena while working at National Linen and I am blessed to have known her. I send my condolences to her family and close friends. Rena, will be greatly missed. I knew her from National Linen and she was my neighbor she moved in across from me August would have been 2 years (2642 Winding Creek Dr). She was a very private woman. I'll miss her smile and her walking around the neighborhood. To her daughter SHE LOVED YOU.
