I remember one of our early THS Class of 1965 reunions when Ricky was active in Parents Without Partners. Then at another reunion he was so happy because he had married Ann. He was such a nice guy. Though he was small in statue, he had a huge heart. He will be greatly missed.

Dear Ann,
Just thought I would share a time in Rick's life with me, that I remember well.I was working on my car in June 1966 and Ricky came by my house and we talked a while and then he asked me what I was going to do in the near future. I told him that i had no plans, that I was working at Sears in downtown Atlanta. He said, "I'm going in the Air Force next month". I told him it sounded good, so we went to the Air Force recruiter, Wylie Cowart who we both knew. Ricky went to basic training in late July 1966, I went a few days later. We met up at Lackland AFB, TX for basic training. After basic training, we split up for a few years. My parents always kept abreast with his family on where we were both stationed. Ricky went to Vietnam in 1968 to Nha-Trang I went to Cam Ranh Bay, one day I called Ricky and ask him the same question he had asked me, "What you going to do". He said probably re-enlist in the Air Force, I said why not. To make a long story short, I re-enlisted 4 years and Ricky got discharged. I spend 20 years in the Air Force and retired in Aug 1986. I ran into Ricky when he was with the pest control company, in fact he came to my house on a service call one Saturday. I saw Ricky at the 40th THS Class of 65 reunion. He looked great. We talked a while. If it had not been for that conversation on the phone in Vietnam, no telling what the future might have been. I will miss him, even though we never made contact after the reunion. I will always remember Ricky. May God bless you and your family during this time.

Ann,
Your in our thoughts and prayers during this time. Ricky was quite a character and had such a good heart. His zest for life and living it to the fullest with such enthusiasm was his legacy. He loved everyone and was so caring and concerned about all of us - always checking on us to see how we were - just like Dennis, Daddy (Ralph) and his other kindred. He is in a better place now and resting in peace where he will not suffer anymore. If he could come back and tell us all about what he is experiencing in his spiritual realm I know he would... Please contact me and keep in touch with all of us --- I will miss him but he is with all the others who have gone ahead and I know they are all having such a great homecoming. I miss them all and look forward to the day I can meet them again and share in the glory that God has waiting on us. Love to all of you --- God will see you through and make a way where there is no way --- Ricky I know will always be near in spirit rest assured.

Dear Ann,
Ricky will be missed by all of us who went through school with him. He was one of those always there when needed people that you knew could always be depended on. His sweet smile and caring personality will be missed by all who knew him. The THS Class of '65 get togethers will not be the same without his presense. Prayers and thougts are with you and your family.

Seeing Ricky, my cousin, from time to time was a joy. He loved his family and we loved him. My family visited Ricky's while growing up, two older sisters (Patty & Irene) baby sat him and his siblings as children. Moss Reunions were always fun and we could talk and catch up on our lives for awhile. Ricky lived a good life. My prayers are with Ann and the family in the days ahead. May our faith in the Lord show that Ricky is happy and with his Heavenly family now and surrounded by his parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and all of his other loved ones there.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I am so grateful I got to see and talk with him after many years in December at the AZ Johnson dedication. I appreciate that he called me a week later and we got to talk at length. He will be miised by many. He was one of those fortunate few that will always be remembered.
