Family-Placed Death Notice
JAMES, Robert Robert Bradley James, "Brad," 50, of Kennesaw, Georgia, died Thursday, November 1, 2012. He was born June 15, 1962, in Marietta Georgia, the son of Joseph and Gail James. He was the second of four boys. On October 17, 1998, he married Lori Jean Spranz. Brad leaves behind his wife, Lori Spranz-James, daughter, Jillian Haley James both of Kennesaw, Georgia, parents Joseph and Gail James, and brothers, Scott James, Steven James, and Brian James, all of Gulf Breeze, Florida. Brad was an accomplished professional wrestler and member of the famed Armstrong wrestling family. His wrestling career started in 1981 when he teamed up with his father, "Bullet" Bob, to win the Thanksgiving tag team tournament at the sold-out Omni Coliseum in Atlanta. He went on to be an active wrestler in Georgia Championship Wrestling through 1984. In 1985 he won titles in Mid-South Wrestling and held various titles in other tournaments through the end of the 80s. Brad also made multiple international appearances in Japan beginning in the early 80s and well into the 90s. In 1990 he became a member of the National Wrestling Association, participating in World Championship Wrestling. He joined multiple tag teams, wrestling with Tim Horner, Big Josh, Thunderbolt Peterson, also teaming with his brothers Brian "Road Dog" and Scott Armstrong. In 1995 he wrestled for United States Wrestling Association and for Smokey Mountain Wrestling. In 1996, he wrestled in World Championship Wrestling continuing through 1999. Starting in 2004, Brad participated in multiple wrestling reunions and rematches. In 2006, he signed a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment, making multiple appearances on Sci Fi and RAW. He was active in his career through 2008. From 2008 until his death, Brad became a personal health consultant and wrestling trainer, while continuing to make multiple independent appearances. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother and friend. Contributions may be made to any Regions Bank, "Jillian Haley James-College Fund." The viewing will be held at the Mayes Ward Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta, Georgia, Sunday, November 4, 2012, from 2PM-4PM. Never met you but was a fan since I was 12 watching you and your dad compete on Georgia Championship Wrestling. I remember you beating Ted Dibiase for the National Heavyweight Championship as the "Masked Mr. R" when everyone thought it was Tommy Rich. I remember the 60 minute draw in the Omni with Ric Flair. Godspeed dude, you left us too soon.

So sorry to hear about Brad leaving us way too soon. I have been a fan of the "Armstrong family" since they started. I was always a Brad fan. I got to meet him a few times and got to stand in the middle of him, all the brothers, and Dad and have a picture taken and autographed. Got to talk alot to him a couple of times. What a super person he was. My condolences to his family, wife and daughter. We lost a good person. Thanks for the memories and enjoyment you provided me over the years Brad. Godspeed my friend!

Lori, I still can't believe he is gone. I know we haven't been in touch in awhile, but he was always so sweet to me. I thought a lot of Brad and always will. When I met you, I knew he had him a great woman. He was so happy. I know the next few month, years will be hard, please know if you ever need anything let me know. I am so sorry for your loss. Brad and his family were very special friends to my family during our growing up years in Marietta.
