Robert Janko Obituary
Family-Placed Death Notice
JANKO, Robert Dr. Robert S. Janko, DDS of Atlanta, GA passed away February 10, 2012 after a long illness. Born in California in 1939, he moved to Atlanta at 9 years old. He graduated from Henry Grady High School, Emory University, and Emory Dental School. He was a Captain in the USAF stationed in Germany from 1964-1967. He practiced Pediatric Dentistry in Sandy Springs for 37 years. He was affiliated with Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity since dental school. Preceded in death by his parents, Eunice and Edward Janko, he is survived by his wife, Lillie Raphael Janko, sister Barbara Behrendt (Peter), Colorado, children Paige Janko Peritt (David), Illinois, Shawn Janko (Angie), Atlanta, Dena Cohen (Mark), Atlanta, mother-in-law, Reny Raphael and seven grandchildren, Ariel and Ilana Peritt, Charlie, Katie and Jack Janko, and Grey and Sidney Cohen . Graveside service will be held Sunday, February 12 at 3:30pm at Crest Lawn Memorial Park, Rabbi Philip Kranz officiating. My sincere sympathy to the Janko family. It has been 10 years since I worked with Dr. Janko but I was there for 15 years. I watched all of you get married and start your families. I know how much he loved all of you. I just lost my dad last month so I understand that no matter what the circumstances are, you are never really ready to let them go. Love to all,

I am so sorry to hear of Dr. Janko's passing. While it has been many years since I had last seen him (20 something years ago when I became too old to continue to see him), I remember him as a gentle soul who was the most excellent dentist and who always had a smile or laugh for everyone. I am thankful for the excellent care he provided me and my brother Todd, and words of assurance he always had for my mother, JoAnn.
My deepest sympathy to all of you. I am grateful to have had the privilege of knowing Dr. Janko.
