Family-Placed Death Notice
ROBERT A. ROSS III ROSS Robert A. "Bob" Ross, III was born January 28, 1955 and went home on July 2, 2007. Bob's life was filled with challenges which he faced head-on with humor, perseverance, and love. Bob was a peacemaker and was able to help others through their troubles. He was often the voice of reason and clarity in chaotic situations. Bob loved children and had a special place in his heart for them. He worked as a behavior specialist at the Georgia Baptist Children's Home where the kids and staff were excited to see Mr. Bob drive up in his truck. When he was there, everyone knew things would be all right. Bob as a "parent" to several wonderful kids who were not his own. But Bob always wanted a child that was his flesh and blood. He was ecstatic when his son Bear was born. The happiest times in his life were spent with his son and Bear is the most precious gift in his life. Bob loved music and shared that with the world through his beautiful singing voice, through playing the drums and through writing songs. Everyone who heard Bob sing had their favorite Bob Ross Song, which could have been The Little Drummer Boy, Shackles, My Girl, Moondance or Mustang Sally. No one ever left one of his performances without being moved. Bob was a loving father brother and friend who touched many lives and will be truly missed. Bob is survived by his son, Robert Harrison Pace Ross; sisters, Jill Ross Huffman and Anna Jean Ross. A Memorial Service will be Sunday, July 15, 2007 at 2pm, Crestview Baptist Church, 1670 N. Expressway, Griffin, GA 30223, officiated by Pastor Dan Riordan. Remberances will be shared. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Robert Harrison Pace Ross College Fund will be accepted. Perfect weather now - a little cool with sunshine. Just right.
Well it's 9/11 today and people are remembering. People are also not sure of what is going on in the world, lots of unrest and shootings. That doesn't help anything.
Trying to have a yard sale while the weather is so nice and it is early in the football season.
Saw the moon in the morning sky yesterday and today. No clouds, just clear blue. very nice.

Has gotten hot again, more typical August weather.
I'm a little lonely. Keeping busy, but not the same as having y'all around. Just some things I can't do by myself (reach my back).
Bear should start school next week. Hope that goes well.
Grass cut yesterday. Just looks so much better.

Hey Bob,
Well now we are having lots and lots and lots of rain and temps in 60's and 70's. Unusual for August.
I truly miss you two. So many good men in heaven. Missing having y'all around.
Trying to put a little family history together before it's too late. The younger ones don't seem interested and the older ones don't want to go digging in the past. It may end up being just for me, but that's okay for now.
Would be so wonderful to hear from y'all. Want to know you both are okay.

Hey Bob,
It was cloudy yesterday, so a bit thankfully a bit cooler. Hot again today. I know it is July and August is coming up. It would be nice if trees were not being cut down like they are. They help it be a little cooler. I have read a few books recently talking about working with nature - less lawn, more native plants, leaving trees that aren't going to cause a problem. More plants, less concrete/asphalt. There is so much development everywhere.
Would love to hear from you two. I miss you. Today was a cry day. I have those sometimes.

Burning up hot here! Big tragedy in TX - kids at camp caught in flood. I know how you love kids, so I know you will be busy. Hope B can help. That would be good. Had 3 dreams, all the same morning. Want B to know he is my love and I miss you very, very much. Just want him to be safe and loved where he is. He had it rough, too. I hope you guys are together and that Heaven is good.

Little fawn near parents' graves. No moving, but alive and alert. went to grandparents' site also. For now, think B is in an okay place where I can go and see him easily. Your child (grown) and J & K came yesterday. Got some of his old toys that he may share with nephew. Yay! That makes me happy. He lit up when the little guy called him. B's things in place now. up to 42 degrees today, but wet so it feels cold. Birds are still here though. I don't know how cold it has to get for them to go further south, it was 12 degrees with wind chill I think it was close to 4 degrees. No sun, cloudy today.
