So sorry for your loss, Diane. From what I have read about him being your fb friend, he was a good, descent, honest, caring man, who was loved by all. Coach Roger will be dearly missed. Hope you find some comfort in knowing: Even people you know from FB are praying for you. Coach is in heaven playing football with the greats, Bear Bryant Bob Neyland. I am sure he's even passing a few balls with Elvis. RIP Coach Roger.

I am so sorry to hear about Roger. He was truly one of the good ones. I always looked forward to catching up with him during the summer passing leagues. He has left a tremendous legacy through all the lives he touched. I'll miss my friend. May God bless you all.

Diana, Prayers will be with you & your family during this time. Coach Rogers made a lasting impression with my son (Stephon) while playing for the North GA Falcons. Although he only played one season, he still follows the values today that Coach instilled in him. He will now be looking over you, your family & players and his spirit will always be there. I've never personally met you or Roger, I have however observed you two from the distance through this gift of FaceBook. I felt a twinge of pain and sympathy for The McDaniel Family when the news of the sickness was made public, as I reflect, I recall how prayers were asked for but don't recall complaining. I recall your being positive and upbeat but I don't recall any self-pity. I seem to remember smiles on the pictures shared, however I don't recall seeing tears of despair or agony.
I'm sure that in those times alone together you and the man I now see many calling Coach, brother and friend, had those moments of sobbing, complaining and questioning God, Why Me Lord? But I see by your most recent comment, "Planning my husband's home-going and Walking in supernatural grace that only God can give." You're still Leaning On The Everlasting Arms, because you have proven to the world you have a personal relationship with The Man that is Standing Somewhere In The Shadows.
From the words and post you've shared I am positive that Roger now knows what Jesus looks like. Our hearts break for you, our eyes fill with the warmth of tears that roll down our cheeks as we ponder the emptiness you undoubtedly feel, but we pray that during this time you and the entire family feel Sheltered In The Arms Of God as He brings peace that passes all understanding and our prayer is that you each feel the comfort of His love.
Thank You so much for being an inspiring example of how we should live and what being a christian is all about.....
