TEPPER, Rubin G. Rubin G. Tepper, 91, of Atlanta, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, November 25, 2011. Born in Suchowola, Poland, he came to the United States in 1938 only to return to Europe in 1944, while serving with the U.S. Army's 14th Armored Division. He later earned five medals for his service during World War II and also became president of the Southeast Chapter of the 14th Armored Division Veteran's Association. Returning to Cordele, Georgia after the war to manage his brother's dry goods store, he met Selma Schechter while visiting family in New York. They were engaged a month later. The couple moved from Cordele to Selma's home town, Pittsfield, MA, where they lived for 16 years. They relocated to Atlanta in 1965 and owned and operated a children's clothing and shoe store, Tepper's Fashions, in Doraville until their retirement in 1985. The Teppers have been members of Ahavath Achim Synagogue since moving to Atlanta. Rubin is survived by his wife of 63 years, Selma; his daughter, Marsha Shulman and former son-in-law, David Shulman; his son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Jeannie Tepper; and grandchildren, Mara Shulman, Simmi Shulman, Shane Tepper and Beau Tepper.
