BROCK, Ruby Kate Ruby Kate Brock, age 94 of Snellville, GA, passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grady Lee Brock; parents, Lydia Marie & Thomas Hudson Wright; sons, Jerry & Terry Brock; and 4 of her siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Robin (Tom) Hairston of Tucker, GA; 2 sisters, Vivian Wendt (Bill) of Dahlonega, GA and Irene Hayes of Savannah, GA; 3 grandchildren, Sherry Warner (Chris) of Atlanta, GA, Leslie Jakoby of Durango, CO, and Tommy Hairston, of Atlanta, GA; 2 great- grandchildren, Tommy Jakoby and Rocco Martinez; several nieces and nephews; and great nieces and nephews. Ruby grew up in Madison, GA, worked at Fort McPherson, and retired from Sears, Roebuck & CO on Ponce de Leon Avenue, after 38 years of service. She loved to travel the U.S., cook, and always hosted Sunday dinners for family and friends. She was an avid gardener who was known for her beautiful flowers and green thumb with her acre vegetable garden. Ruby loved spending time with her grandchildren and great- grandchildren teaching southern traditions, such as the art of making proper biscuits. The Funeral Service to honor and celebrate the life of Ruby Kate Brock will be held Saturday, July 29, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Tom M. Wages Snellville Chapel. Interment will follow to Eternal Hills Memory Gardens, Snellville, Georgia. Family will receive friends on Friday, July 28, 2017 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
