Family-Placed Death Notice
Homegoing Celebration for Elder Ruby Pope McCrary of Decatur, will be held Wednesday, April 4, 2007, 12 Noon at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 1706 Candler Road. Rev. Cecelya Taylor, Interim Pastor, officiating. Remains will be placed instate from 10 AM until the hour of service. Interment, Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Elder McCrary is survived by 2 sons, Mr. H. Steven McCrary, Jr., Mr. Michael T. McCrary, 1 daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Allen (Donna), 2 grandsons, Jordan Michael McCrary, and Xavier Michael McCrary, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, and a host of other relatives and friends. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the church by 11:45 AM. Stocks Funeral Home, 1970 Hosea L. Williams Dr. 404-377-0458-9.

Donna, Michael, Steve & Granny:
Take consolation in the fact that your mother is in a better place. She ran a good race. She produced 3 lovely, intelligent individuals and instilled some of her amazing qualities in each one of you. Ruby was truly "special". She could make you laugh until you cried. We sometimes did not talk for a while, but when we did we laughed the whole time and that is what I will miss most. I feel very blessed to have had Ruby as my friend and I know we will laugh together again!

The McCrary family is very special to me. Mrs. McCrary has always taken me under her wings like a daughter. Her advice and candid wisdom will last a life time. I often said, "I would love to travel and entertain just like Mrs. McCrary!" The legacy she left with Donna, Micheal and Steve will be their guiding light. She was loved.
