Family-Placed Death Notice
RUFUS "RED" TINDOL Pest Control Hall of Famer Age 85 died Sunday, April 27, 2003 at North Fulton Regional Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Kathryn, daughter, Jacqueline T. King; sons, Rufus "Bubba" Tindol, and Michael D. Tindol; 6 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren, nephew, Jim Allgood, Dublin. Born in 1918 in Dublin, GA, he attended GA Tech and Auburn University. He served in the Army during WWII. He formed Georgia Exterminating with his brother in-law, James Allgood in 1945. His company was acquired by Orkin in 1947 where he worked as District Manager and Vice President until 1967. He founded Tindol Services in 1967 with his sons. He was a Registered Professional Sanitary Engineer, member and Chairman of the Georgia Pest Control Commission. He served as two time President of the Georgia Pest Control Association and President of the National Pest Control Association. He was a member of the Northside Kiwanis Club and the Salvation Army Advisory Board. In 1985 he was chosen Small Business Person of the Year. In 2000 he was inducted into the Pest Control Hall of Fame. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 P.M., Wednesday, April 30, 2003 at Alpharetta First United Methodist Church. Rev. Hal Brady officiating. Interment, Green Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. this evening at Roswell Funeral Home, 950 Mansell Rd., 770-993-4811.

Kathryn: I have lots of special memories of Red and yourself all throughout my life. Good times at Jekyl Island years ago. Your visits to mom and dad's in East Tennessee and in FL. But, best of all--listening to my father talk about all the things he and Red had done and shared throughout their lives. You are with me in my prayers and thoughts. God
