FARIEL, Sheila Sheila Clune Fariel of Sandy Springs, Georgia died on July 3, 2012 at Hospice Atlanta in Atlanta, Georgia after a long illness. She was 79. Sheila was born in Tarrytown, New York on June 6, 1933. Sheila was the daughter of William Clune II and Helen (Hadley) Clune, who predeceased her. She is survived by her five children, Peter Fariel, Rockport, Massachusetts, Michael Fariel, Norfolk, Virginia, Regina Toner, Marietta, Georgia, Bridget Fariel, Norwich, Vermont and Tim Fariel, Hartford, Vermont and many grandchildren. Sheila is also survived by her sister Sarah Clune, Northfield, Michigan; brothers William Clune III, Madison, Wisconsin; and Daniel Clune, Chevy Chase, Maryland. She was predeceased by her sister, Susan Lorenz-Aiken. Sheila attended Marymount College in Tarrytown. After graduating from Marymount, she worked at B. Altman & Company in New York. In 1955, Sheila married Harry F. Fariel and raised five children in Tarrytown, New York; Dover, Delaware, Pound Ridge, New York, and Brownsville, Vermont. While living in Vermont, Sheila worked on the staff of the Windsor Chronicle newspaper. Sheila was a talented cook with a love of the ocean, good novels, and cats with strong personalities. Funeral services will be held at the Catholic Church of Saint Ann in Marietta, Georgia on July 13, 2012 at 2 p.m. The family requests that memorial donations be made to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation (www.bcrfcure.org).
