Stanley Erickson Obituary

Family-Placed Death Notice

Mr. Stanley Erickson, 88 of Marietta, died Tuesday. Private family graveside funeral services will be 3 p.m. Thursday in Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. Born in Minneapolis, MN, Mr. Erickson has been a resident of Georgia since 1963 moving here from Chicago, IL. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during WWII. He retired from EI Dupont in 1984. He was Lutheran. Mr. Erickson was preceded in death by his wife, Blanche E. Erickson. Survivors include daughter, Judy Osburn of Marietta; sons, Steve Erickson of Roswell, Bill Erickson of Carrollton; brothers, Bruce Erickson of Phoenix, AZ and Roger Erickson of Minneapolis, MN; four grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the St. Labre Indian School in Ashland, MT, 59004-1001. Carmichael Funeral Home in Marietta is in charge of arrangements.

I hold many fond memories of Uncle Stan, Aunty Bink, Bill, Steve and Judy, especially during the 40's and 50's when the Salisbury family and the Erickson family celebrated so many happy times together.

Dear Bill, Steve & Judy (my apology if my memory does not serve me correctly on your names) -- I worked with your Dad for many years at DuPont. I was the first person he hired after he moved to Atlanta. When he would give me an appraisal, he never made me feel I had done something wrong. He would always say, "Some people do this or that," never calling my name but it would be things I would be doing which were wrong. I always left his office feeling better -- even tho he had "reprimanded' me.

Please accept my sympathy to you and your children -- I know they'll miss him too.
