Family-Placed Death Notice
Therese W. Kearney, age 79 of East Point, died Sunday, July 9, 2006. Mrs. Kearney was a well-known realtor. She is survived by two sons, Gene Kearney and his wife, Connie Kearney, of Smyrna, and Michael Kearney and his partner, James Dear, of San Francisco, CA; two grandchildren, Nicholas and Megan, and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M. Wednesday at Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home in East Point. Funeral mass will be 2:00 P.M., Thursday, July 13, 2006, at St. John Evangelist Catholic Church in Hapeville, with Archbishop John Donoghue officiating. Donations may be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help or Hospice Atlanta. Carmichael-Hemperley Funeral Home, East Point, Georgia, 404-761-1138.

No words of mine can mean much now. Your loss is far too great and much too close. But I do want to make known my deepest sympathy to you Gene and Connie, to you Michael and James. In the praying I am doing you are with me, and the Lord is with you...especially now. Mass for Your mother today on the campus of Providence College, and again, tomorrow.
Thomas Merton, the profound and gifted Trappist monk, wrote of death: "It's where the hills end...and the stars begin." Therese' "hills" are over now. It's her turn to be with the "stars" and their Source.
She is in Peace, she would want you to be. With much Love,
