Thomas WEBB Obituary

WEBB, Thomas Thomas Patrick Webb July 28, 1961- June 20, 2015 Beloved husband, dad, brother, good friend, entrepreneur and one helluva guy. Tommy Webb has passed from this life, leaving a wake of memories, laughter and love. Born in Texarkana, AR to Jim and Trish (Frassrand) Webb, Tommy was one of 7 children. Tommy attended elementary school at Holy Rosary Academy in Nashville, Tennessee and J.J. Daniel Middle and Sprayberry High School in Marietta, GA. He was in the National Honor Society, elected President of Student Government and reigned as "Mr. Sprayberry '79". He played baseball, ran track and competed at everything he did. He graduated in 1979 and hit the ground running. Tommy obtained his Bachelor of Industrial Administration degree in 1984 from the General Motors Institute, graduating near the top of his class. He attended GMI from 1980-1984 and interned at GM where he received hands-on experience. Tommy was an entrepreneur at heart; integrating the processing efficiencies he learned at GM to create Paragon Sourcing in 1998. Tommy grew Paragon into one of the largest textile suppliers in the marine industry. He was adept at building lasting partnerships with both his Asian partners and his US customers. One of Tommy's customers summed it up best when he said, "Tom was always ready with a cool plan. He was a good friend as well as one hell of a guy. He will be missed." A longtime resident of the area, Tommy was Mayor of Carl, GA from 1993-1997. Preceding Tommy in death was his father Jim in 1987. Lovingly remembering Tom are his wife, J.J. Forster Webb at home in Sandpoint Idaho, his children Emily, Joey (Hope), Mason, Christopher (Amanda) Curnew and Nicholas Forster-Curnew, his grandchild, Teagan Curnew, his brothers: Jimmy, Mike (Kalen) and Frank (Kimberly) and his sisters Cecilia (Mark) Hoffman, Elizabeth (Craig) Thornton and Anna Webb, his nieces and nephews, as well as a host of true friends. Tommy loved the outdoors, loved to laugh and be loud and never complained when things weren't going his way. He was a beautiful person inside and out. Our lives are richer for knowing him and our loss is profound. The family is planning a private Celebration of Life. Memorial donations may be made to the ALS Foundation, P.O. Box 6051 Albert Lea, MN 56007. Arrangements are under the care of Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, Spokane, WA.

I see that Leslie also left a note. We three met in Santa Rosa, CA in 2014, and you and I were instant pals. Groovy tee shirts you had! And great taste in music, too! Your diagnosis was tentative then, but when you didn't answer my phone calls afterwards, I feared the worst. Today, nearly four years later, I did a google search and found your obituary. J.J., I also met you at the end of the retreat, when you flew in from Idaho. I'm so sorry. Tommy was an amazing bright light. He really was! Rest in peace, Tommy, and J.J., may you be bolstered by a perpetual tidal wave of wonderful memories.
