CANUP, Virginia Virginia Dare Moon Canup "Bun Bun" age 99 of Grayson, GA, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar Canup. She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Gail and Donald Duffey; brothers, Kelley Moon and his wife Edith, Dennis Moon and Bill Moon; 3 grandchildren, Sheila and her husband Chris Sherrill, Heather and her husband Gordon Wales and Jonathan and Whitney Duffey; 2 great grandchildren, Jamison Duffey and Victoria Wales; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Canup was a native of Gwinnett County and a longtime member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. She was a secretary to the Standard Rate Committee of Southern Motor Carriers Rate Conference for more than 30 years. Mrs. Canup was a loving and a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved Christ and her family. She never met a stranger and was loved by all she met. The Funeral Service to Celebrate and Honor the Life of Virginia Dare Moon Canup "Bun Bun" will be held Sunday, October 4, 2015 at 4:00 PM at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church where she will lie in state from 3:30 PM until 4:00 PM. Pastors Thomas L. Jordan and Ricky Brooks will officiate. Interment will follow at Haynes Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Loganville.
