Vivien Shivers began "touching the lives of students" before she graduated from Spelman College. She tutored me and others in Math at Spelman and truly made a difference. I have valued the friendship of the Shivers sisters and they have my sincere sympathy in the passing of Vivien.

As my former principal, friend and co-worker, Dr. Stocks was ALWAYS willing to " go the extra mile" with the faculty and more importantly, the children. She trusted us to do what was best for C. D. HUBERT ELEM. SCHOOL, and with her guidance, we did.

Condolences to the family and friends of Dr. Stocks. She was a fine woman, a compassionate mentor, and a true
professional. Atlanta's Children were poorer when she retired, and all her friends, co-workers and family are poorer for her passing.

Dr. Stocks was a great teacher, mentor and friend. I had known her family all of my life. She and her sister, Jackie Daniels, looked out for me during my high school years. I truly appreciated her kindness, knowledge and guidance. Dr. Stocks, you will be missed.

My heartfelt prayers that His Comfort will attend the family and friends today and in the days ahead. Sis. Dr. Stocks was a great instructional leader and a generous mentor to many young educators. We mourn, but not like those who have no Hope which is in Jesus Christ.
