Mis, Walter A.
Mr. Walter A. Mis, 91, of Beacon Falls, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at Paradigm Health Center of Prospect. He was the beloved husband of Jane (Gorski) Mis. Mr. Mis was born in Beacon Falls on August 15, 1922, a son of the late Stanley and Mary (Adamczyk) Mis. He was a lifelong resident of Beacon Falls and a Navy veteran serving during World War II. He was a communicant of St. Michael Church where he served as a Eucharistic minister and was a member of the Men's Club. Besides his wife of 66 years, he leaves his sons, Fred Mis and his wife Nancy of Fairfield, Bill Mis and his wife Sue of Beacon Falls with whom he made his home; daughter, Justine Mis and her husband John Haynie of St. Thomas Virgin Islands; sister, Ann Jalowiec of Seymour; grandchildren, Benjamin Mis and his wife Maritza, Jason Mis and his wife Kerry, Emily Marsillio and her husband Evan, Stephen Mis and John Michael Mis; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Stanley and Teofil Mis, and sister, Julia Baukas. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on a date to be announced at St. Michael Church. Burial with military honors will follow in St. James Cemetery, Cross Street, Naugatuck. There are no calling hours.
