Wen is sorely missed. Being that we were neighbor, every time I pass by their home I think about the days she would put the dogs away for me to get in the house. She loved grapes. I would drop some by her home and we would just sit and talk. She would tell me about the trips she had recently taken. I miss her so much. I see Bert working in the yard and can imagine how much Bert, the daughters, and the grandkids miss her. Even her dogs. She was a beautiful lady. I continue to pray for strength for the family.

Rev Smith and family: We have just learned of your loss and is deeply saddened. We first got to know Wen as members of Adam-Smith where she was first lady. She was a wonderful first lady and an awesome Christian woman and child of God. We will always remember her smile and here pleasant, friendly and compassionate personality. May God continue to be with you all. She will be greatly missed.

When I'm Gone
When I'm Gone and out of sight,
Let me rest by saying good night.
With My mission complete;
I ran out of time.
Now, I'm on to my destination, and eternal peace of mind.
If you miss me, please know, that I'm alright.
I'm traveling to a place, that's far out of sight.
I want you to remember the good times, that we have had.
So thank the Lord, smile broadly, and try to be glad.
I didn't want to leave you, but I had an appointment day.
With my Lord and Savior who said welcome, and paved the way.
I'll look down on you, so keep on serving.
And receive your rewards of which you're deserving.
I love all of you, the first to the last.
I'll see you later, after this season has past.
May you be blessed and strengthened to carry on.
For this is my time to travel home.

Rev. Smith and Family: It is with sincere sympathy that I send you love and prayers at this time. I am so very sorry I was unable to attend Wen's funeral. I know you understand. I have been praying for Wen and you all. As the word of God assures us, her soul has now returned to God. I hurt with you all yet I know my pain does not begin to compare to yours. Just know that you are not alone in your sorrow. Please try to find some comfort in knowing that God cares and so many others who love you care as well. God bless.

Bert & Family, I extend my heartfelt sympathy to each of you. I just heard of Wen's passing on this Wedn evening; therefore, I was unable to attend her services due to illness. She will be greatly missed by me and many others. I loved her dearly and will miss that beautiful smile she possessed and our long talks. I pray that the peace and comfort of God which surpasses all understanding be with you all. Wen was the greatest fighter in this battle called life I have ever known. I pray all the wonderful memories you hold dearly of Wen sustain and lift you up until you meet again in the very presence of God. Love You All,

My deepest condolences and sympathies to all who loved you. I had the pleasure of meeting Wen while we were attending Troy State. After knowing Gwen for many years, I was a little irritated that Gwen(Wen)was treating me like a stranger. Wen quickly distinguished herself as Gwen's twin. She stood out in class and continued to do the same every time I saw here. May your heartfelt memories comfort you in the days to come.

Pastor Smith and the entire Smith and Mitchell families, my family and I will be praying with you during your great loss. Sis. Wen gave that dreadful cancer a mighty touch fight and I know it is very exhausted at this time. Sis. Wen inspired me with her fight to never give up and never give in. During our tenure at the Fort Valley State University, my husband, Larry, and I always enjoyed worshipping at St. Peter AME Church. Wendolyn and Pastor Smith extended genuine greetings along with the first class hospitality offered by the church family. I will also miss seeing her at sorority conferences. Rest assured, though, that God will comfort and strengthen her loved ones in his power.

As one of Bert's Alpha Phi Omega fraternity brothers and line mates of the Mean 15 at Savannah State, Wen was like the 16th member of our tight knit group, forever making her family. My heart and Bernice's heart goes out to the Smith family during this time of grief. She was a wonderful person and seeing her at this year's homecoming was so great. She will be sorely missed.

Condolences to the Smith family. Wen was a fighter. As a neighbor she would come by, sit with me and just talk. My grand kids and I would go to the pool and enjoy evenings with her and Bert. Both were such a joy to hang out with. We truly will miss Wen. I hurt for Lil Man, her dog, because he loved Wen and Wen loved him.
