Without a doubt, he was one of the stronger facility members at West Rome High School. He was very talented and a truly nice individual. I worked with him for a short period of time at the Carnegie Library in Rome. He will be remembered by many.

I can't think of my days at West Rome without thinking of Mr. Owen, he left a lasting impression on me. He was the advisor for the Drumbeat when I wrote the Sport Scope; he had a year end party for us at his apartment on Broad St.-a real treat for the staff. I last saw him at Christmas services at St. Peter's where naturally he was singing in the choir, I introduced him to my family, and he was gracious as usual. His voice now joins the Heavenly Choir. May the peace and comfort of Christ be with you and your family. Thank the Lord for the talents, friendship, and witness of W.C. As a student at Shorter College from 1968-72, I worked in the library 20 hours per week. W.C. was always so friendly and kind to me. He became a life long friend to me, my wife Susan and our youngest son Jared. The years have only increased our admiration and appreciation of this great man.
