William (Bill} Husted, popular AJC Technobuddy columnist, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 71 on August 9, 2018. Bill was known for his folksy, witty column in the AJC which endeavored to make the internet and technology accessible and friendly to those with limited expertise and experience. Bill started his career in journalism at the Arkansas Democrat in Little Rock where he eventually became city editor. From there he went into advertising, but returned to reporting for the AJC in 1990. He worked as a business reporter, editor of the Technology Section and Techobuddy and Helpdesk columnist. He is survived by his wife Mary, his step-children, Ryan and Erin Bauslaugh, his sister, Susan Murch, and brother Scott Husted. Bill was a unique character. He will be sorely missed by all who loved him, as well as friends and fans who enjoyed his keen and quirky sense of humor. Those who wish to honor Bill should eat some fried food and raise a glass of wine in his honor. Donations St. Jude's would also be appreciated. Funeral services are being held in Oceanside, California. Fischer Funeral Care, Atlanta www.fischerfuneralcare.com
