Alan Jonathan Kennedy

1987 - 2022

Alan Jonathan Kennedy was born in San Diego, Calif., on March 30, 1987, to William D. Kennedy Sr. and Suzan K (Hummon) Kennedy. He passed away on Oct. 16, 2022, at MercyOne Siouxland in Sioux City.
Alan graduated from Atlantic Highschool with the class of 2005. Being a natural caregiver, he worked various jobs in nursing homes and completed his bachelor's degree in health care administration. He was employed as a long-term care administrator.
Alan married Chris Murray in 2009. Wanting to grow their family, they became foster parents and also adopted 5 kids. Alan always had a way with people. He was quick to make you smile and laugh. Alan loved his family, caring for others, and having a good time. Riding his motorcycle was one of his favorite pastimes.
Preceding Alan in death were his parents; grandparents, Alan and Elizabeth (Betty) Hummon, Jay and June Rankin; uncles Dwight Hummon and Jim Hummon.
Those left to cherish his memory are his spouse, Chris Kennedy; children Taylor, Sam, Michael, Deshawn, and Harley; brother, Bill (Emily) Kennedy of Elliott; sister, Michelle (Jon) Gifford of Hutchinson, Kan.; nieces, Sidney (Cody) Wanless, Ariana Kennedy, Chole Gifford, Tiffany Gifford, and nephew Aiden Kennedy; uncle, Mike (Diane) Hummon of St. Paul, Minn.; as well as many other family members and friends.
Services are handled with the Schmidt Family Funeral Home of Atlantic.
