Connie Wright Obituary

Connie Wright, 81, of Atlantic, and formerly of Dunlap, died, Friday, Jan. 31, 2025, at her home.
Connie May (Edwards) Wright was born April 19, 1943, in Cass County on her parents' farm near Cumberland. Her father and mother were Alfred E. Edwards and Berniece B. (Lehman) Edwards. When Connie was four years old, her family moved to a farm in Taylor County by Corning. She attended country school for nine years at Fairview School in Holt Township and graduated from Corning High School, Corning, in 1961.
After graduation, she immediately started working at Mutual of Omaha as a typist. Over the course of her working career, Connie was also employed at Crawford County Assessor's Office, Communications Data Service, and Crawford County Memorial Hospital.
In 1962, she met Samuel Kenneth Wright and was married on June 28, 1963. They moved from Omaha to a farm near Dow City in 1964. In 1967, they moved to Harlan, and then at Chattanooga, Tenn. in 1968. In 1971, Kenny and Connie moved to the Wright family farm in Crawford County where they lived for 43 years. They moved to Atlantic in 2015.
On Sept. 11, 1965, Connie trusted Jesus Christ as her Savior. God gave Connie and Kenny seven children: David Kenneth Wright (Penny), Julie Ann Dobernecker, Susan Kay Breece (Shane), Carrie Jean Wright, Kendy Colleen Young (Brian), Samuel Lewis Wright (Megan), and Rejeana Kylynne Otte (Jared); 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, children and grandchildren, she is survived by her sisters, Janice Rasmussen, Mary Cooper, and Allene Cornelius (Kim); and brother, Charles Edwards (Linda); and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Alfred E. and Berniece B. Edwards and grandparents, Elmer and Mary (Mullen) Edwards and Alvah and Pearl (Porter) Lehman.
A note of gratitude from the family:
"My children and I cannot begin to express how deeply we appreciate the kindness and support each of you gave during Connie's illness. To all who held out a hand to help us, we are thankful to God for each of you. We are grateful for the care provided by Hospice of the Midwest, including, Tiffany, Tina, Stacey, Carly, Lakota and Bailey." Kenny Wright sons and daughters
