Michael A. Hepler, 60, of Cheyenne, Wyo. passed away April 22, 2021 at Cheyenne Regional Medical Center.
He was born Dec. 19, 1960 in Greenfield. Mike was a father, husband, papa, brother, and friend to many who cherished and loved him. Mike was always prepared with a friendly smile and strong back to accomplish any task, great or small. Mike joined the Air Force in 1979 serving his country with unwavering honor and distinction for 20 years in every location and job that he was assigned. After the Air Force, Mike worked another 20 years as a UPS deliveryman in Cheyenne where everyone on his route loved "Mike the UPS guy." In the last few years, Mike decided to work at Browns Shoes just to "have something to do," but we all know he just loved being around people. Mike was often seen around town talking to everyone like they were long lost friends. His approach to life was to live everyday to the fullest, and it showed in every activity and person he came in contact with. Mike's family was the real joy in his life and we all loved him dearly. His family is not sure they can imagine a world without him in it, but know it's a better place because he was.
He is survived by his wife, Vickie Hepler of Cheyenne; children, Michaela (Josh) Moore of Cheyenne, Nicholas (Mandi) Johnson of Salt Lake City, James (Kayla) Johnson of Cheyenne and Jessica Chezhia of Gypsum, Colo.; grandchildren, Jennyssa, Kaelan, Logan, Corbin, Colton, Tucker and Lincoln; mother, Ronda Tippery of Council Bluffs; siblings, Terry (Kim) Hepler of Atlantic, Lori (Mike) Hayes of Atlantic, and Todd (Kim) Hepler of Huxley.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ted Hepler; grandmother, Zola Hepler; uncle, Terry Hepler and a cousin Paul Hepler.
Cremation has taken place under the care of Schrader, Aragon and Jacoby Funeral Home and private family services will be held. The family will have a celebration of life at a later date. Condolences may be offered at www.schradercares.com.

Mr Michael Hepler was my first supervisor when I was stationed at Offutt AFB in Bellevue Nebraska. He was a great friend and I only wish we would have stayed in touch over the years. He was a terrific man.

I have lots of memories about Mike. From his stories as an SP, to our times together in the front office of the 90th Communications Squadron.

I will always look back at how well he served this nation, the people in his care and his ability to make sense of difficult situations.

My husband and I are so shocked to hear about Mike. We were at Brown’s Shoes the first week of April and he helped me purchase shoes, what a great person he was. I actually knew Mike for several years, not personally but always as our UPS delivery man at our clinic where I worked up here in Wheatland. He was always “happy go lucky” kind of guy.
So today (5/8) we stopped at Brown Shoes and asked “where is Mike”? And we’re told of his passing. We are very sad to hear that and want to extend our deepest sympathies. May he Rest In Peace.

I have known Mike for 25+ years, but just like everyone else, felt like I knew him my whole life. In both our military and civilian life, I looked at him and strove to "be like Mike" ... friendly, gregarious, smiley ... he was a joy to see every time!
