Elizabeth Doonan Obituary

Elizabeth "Nan" Doonan was born in Butte, MT on January 9, 1919. Passed away on April 8, 2006 in Roseville, CA. Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Frank Doonan. She was a devoted mother to Ed (Miriam), Dan (Susan), Tony and Mary Beth (Jim) Sarantopulos. She has 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Nan's career began in Butte, MT as a medical secretary. After marriage she settled into being a housewife and a mother until her youngest started school. She retired from the University of San Francisco Medical Center in 1970.
In 1950 the family moved to the San Francisco area where they stayed until 1989 when Nan and Frank moved to Roseville. The Doonan's were generally known for their volunteer work in the community. They were always involved with their children's school's as well as at the local Senior Centers (Dolger in Daly City and Maidu in Roseville) once they retired.
Nan will be missed by everyone. She was a loving mother and friend and always had a positive things to say about those around her. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to your favorite charity.
Friends are welcome for visitation Monday, April 17, 2006 from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. with recitation of the Rosary at 7 p.m. at Reichert Funeral Chapel, 7320 Auburn Blvd., Citrus Heights and are invited to attend a funeral mass Tuesday, April 18, 2006 at 10 a.m. at St. Claire Catholic Church, 1950 Junction Blvd., Roseville, CA. Internment to follow at Calvary Cemetery, 7101 Verner Ave., Sacramento, CA.

To the Doonan Family: I know your mother was extremely proud of all of you. I'm proud to have met both Mr. and Mrs. Doonan. To lose both parents in a short period of time is difficult. Please accept my sincerest condolences.
